I can’t believe it’s already Monday! While this weekend was another short one for me due to work, I still made the most of it, thanks to some amazing weather. Saturday was mostly spent working an admission event and when I finally got home in the afternoon it was in the mid-50s outside. Despite the fact that I was completely worn out, I got it in my mind that I needed to go for a run and couldn’t waste a perfectly gorgeous afternoon.
I totally underestimated the wind, my body was yelling at me after spending all day in heels on a marble floor, and I’d stuffed my face with mini sandwiches before leaving work. All of these things combined to create the most epic fail of a run ever. I only made it 2 miles and I took a ton of walking breaks. My stomach was cramping, my calves were killing me, and the crazy wind was making my nose run. You win some, you lose some, I guess. I cut my losses after that and took a nap.
I woke up Saturday just in time for wine and homemade pizza night. Riley piled on the toppings this time and we used a whole wheat crust instead of the regular one we get. It was awesome, as usual.
Sunday morning started off with my hot yoga flow class. Before class, though, I had a mini photo shoot with my teacher. He’s starting up his own blog featuring people around Williamsburg who practice yoga and I’ll be one of his guinea pigs! We needed a couple “action shots” so he snapped a few pics of me in the studio.
After class, Riley and I decided to go out for a lunch date. The weather was freaking amazing! I think it got up to 70 degrees in Williamsburg, so we headed somewhere to sit outside and enjoy the sunshine. We ended up at Paul’s Deli and got seated out on the patio.
We each ordered a hard cider on draft and some subs. I got a roast beef with swiss cheese, onions, and peppers and we split some fries.
It was totally an indulgence and I didn’t even care. They give you way too much food, but I did my best and everything was delicious.
After lunch, we decided to open up all the windows and the back door to let the pets run around and play outside. Captain got to go outside for the first time ever. He’s a giant now and is finally a year old, so it was finally time to let him be a big boy and play with the others.
He gets whiny when Coco and Bella would go out and play and he meowed his pitiful kitten meow for the first few minutes once he finally got out there himself. After he got used to it, though, he had a blast!
He rolled around in the dirt and made sure he got nice and messy before finally coming in. Typical.
The rest of Sunday involved a nap, reading, and watching the Grammy’s with Riley. It felt so amazing to spend time outside and soak up some vitamin D this weekend. Even though the weekend was short, I feel refreshed and rested going into today. Now this week just needs to go by quickly so I can get to Valentine’s Day, aka my favorite holiday.
Have a good one!
Was the weather weirdly warm where you live?
