Chai lattes and I had our fling. It was spicy and exciting at first, but eventually the novelty wore off. I started craving the comforts of my classic. The one who’d stuck by me through thick and thin…..My beloved Americano.Welcome back, my love.
Do I sound like I’m losing it? Maybe I am. This week is the first official week of application reading season. From now until April I will be reading essays about band camp, mission trips, and lessons learned from playing sports. I will be reading recommendation letters that all state that, “Sally is a conscientious, responsible, and kind young lady.” Sounds crazy, but it’s one of my favorite parts of my job. Reading applications and deciding the next class of freshmen is a blast and I can’t wait to see what this year’s group will look like.
I know you didn’t come here to hear about my work, though. You came to stalk my food and see what I’ve been eating, so I won’t dare disappoint you. I’m linking up with Jenn and the gang to share my meals from yesterday. When you’re done, head on over and see what others have been eating!
I attended a hot yoga class yesterday morning, so I planned ahead the night before by prepping a batch of overnight oats. I used 1/2 cup oats, one container of Chobani espresso-flavored Greek yogurt, chocolate chips, and almond milk.
As soon as I snapped this picture, I spotted the PB jar sitting on the counter and decided to throw some in there to go with it. It was delicious.
As soon as I got to work, I headed to the campus coffee shop and ordered an Americano. It was wonderful and kept me company all morning while I answered emails and read applications.
A co-worker came in with a box of Krispy Kreme doughnut holes and asked if I wanted one, to which I replied, “Yep.”
Judge if you must, or you can read this Reader’s Digest article I found on the internet about how to stop unhealthy office snacking. I Googled it while I ate doughnut hole #2 later that afternoon.
Lunch was at least mostly healthy. I had a chicken and cheese roll-up sandwich with some delicious root vegetable chips. On the side I sipped a La Croix cherry lime.
In full disclosure, the picture depicts a reasonable serving of chips. After polishing off my lunch, I ate another serving of said chips.
Riley and I made a gigantic salad with lettuce, kale, cucumber, carrot, celery, leek, tomato, onion, avocado, pepper, and feta cheese. On top, we had steak. I dressed my salad with olive oil and fresh lemon juice.
On the side I had a goblet….er..glass of white wine. Two, actually. Don’t judge. And before you DO judge, consider that I once went through my blog search keywords and saw, “glass of wine don’t judge” as something someone searched and brought them to my blog. I don’t know how to take that, exactly.
What’s the best thing you ate yesterday?
What are your favorite salad toppings?
Do you resist office snacks? How?
