Happy Monday! I had a great weekend off and enjoyed every minute of those three days. It was nice to hang out with Riley, especially after months of having totally separate weekends.
I could not get it together Friday. Not sure why, but I woke up and immediately felt like I could go back to sleep. So I did. Then I lounged in the living room. Coco was attached to me the entire day and no matter where I was in the house, I saw this:
Riley was a bum right along with me, but eventually we both rallied. I went to the gym for a cardio hodgepodge and Riley went to play some golf.
After my workout, I felt much more motivated. I hit up Fresh Market and spent a ridiculous amount of money for dinner, then headed home to pour some wine and get started on a salad.
Friday night’s dinner was lean sirloin, roasted rosemary potatoes, and salad.
I felt a little better about how much the steak cost, because we ended up with enough leftovers for two more meals.
Saturday morning started off with a 90 minute hot yoga flow class at my studio. It was a special Summer Solstice class and there were so many people we were packed in like sardines. I thought it would bother me at first, but it made for a great energy in the studio. And luckily, I didn’t kick anyone.
I snatched some photos from their Facebook page because they got a shot of all of us in savasana at the end of class. Can you find me?
If you did find me, I’m VERY impressed. I’m the one on the bottom right.
After class, they had fresh green juice for everyone, which was delicious.
When I got home, Riley made us some steak and eggs for brunch, along with some leftover roasted potatoes, toast, and a mimosa (because why not?).
I overestimated my hunger and Bella lucked out by getting what I couldn’t finish. Spoiled dog.
Saturday afternoon involved another nap, followed by a date to the movies with Riley. We saw 22 Jump Street and it was hilarious. I loved the first one, so I’m glad the second one was just as funny. Go see it!
After the movie, we headed to dinner where I had a crab cake sandwich, fries, and a couple beers. I didn’t get a picture since it was too dark, but it was really good.
Another lazy day! I slept in, lounged around for a while, then headed out to get ingredients for food prep.
I prepped baked chicken breasts, roasted sweet potato, Israeli couscous (with quinoa, orzo, and some other stuff), chopped some veggies (tomatoes, celery, peppers), and prepped some snack bags.
After my food prep I was feeling all healthy, so I summoned the motivation to go for a 3 mile run around my neighborhood.
The rest of Sunday was spent vegging with Riley and the fur babies. All in all, it was a great way to relax and what exactly what I needed.
Time for me to run, but hope you all have a great day!
What did you do this weekend?
Did you do food prep? I do food prep once in a blue moon, so when I actually do it, I pat myself on the back for days.
