Ahhh, what a great weekend! I love when I have weekends that are fun, relaxing, and productive. As usual, I had a long list of things and only did about half of them, but it was fine because I feel like I really re-charged.
Friday, I got home from work and headed out with Riley for an impromptu mini-date. We’ve lucked out with having a great little Italian restaurant right across the street from our neighborhood. It was super packed, but we managed to get two seats at the bar.
We split a bottle of wine and ordered some pizzas. I got the pesto margherita, which totally hit the spot. It was the perfect way to unwind after a long work week!
Saturday morning involved a lot of lounging, catching up on DVR shows, eating the weekly brunch feast courtesy of Riley, and vegging out in my PJs.
I needed two new tires, so we dropped my car off and went to see Interstellar, which was incredible. Super intense movie, but worth going to see!
Sunday, after some cleaning and errands, I made my way up to Richmond to see one of my good friends and sorority sister, JaneBerry. After hanging out at her and her husband’s house for a little while, we headed out to the mall for some lunch at Brio Tuscan Grill.
I got to enjoy my love of the bread basket as well as a couple mimosas.
Afterwards, we walked off our lunch while checking out some stores at the mall. One of the best parts of the day was finally getting to meet her 10-month old son, Jack. He was such a cutey and I can’t believe it took me this long to get up to meet him!
It was so great to hang out with a girlfriend who I’ve been friends with for so long. Even though we hadn’t seen each other in months, we bounced right back and talked for hours. I also introduced her to Taylor Swift’s new song, which I’m a tad obsessed with.
Once I got home, I dug into some chili that I’d thrown in the crock pot before leaving home. I also got super domestic and whipped up some homemade buttermilk jalapeno and cheddar cornbread. I found a recipe online and added the cheese and pepper. It turned out great!
And that’s my weekend in a nutshell. I’ve got nine days between me and Thanksgiving break, so I’m ready for this week to fly by. Can’t wait to hear what you were up to this weekend!
What did you do this weekend?
What’s the last movie you saw in the theaters?
