And just like that, it’s Monday again! I had a great weekend just lazing around and enjoying the down time. Some people get bummed when they don’t have exciting weekend plans, but I love it! Usually after the craziness of my work week, all I want to do is stay in the same zip code for a couple of days.
Saturday started nice and early with my usual hot yoga flow class. Afterwards, we were treated to some delicious green juice samples since my studio is now selling juices made here in VA. I ended up buying a mint green juice that was super good and really fresh tasting.
After some cleaning, a quick walk with Bella, and an afternoon nap, Riley and I spent the rest of Saturday hanging out at the house. Riley grilled up some sirloins so we could have steak caesar salads.
Sunday we woke up to the sound of pouring rain on the ceiling (and the pets whining that we’d slept in) and took it as a sign to have a lazy day at home. Riley cooked us up a tasty brunch- I had eggs, turkey bacon, and home fries, complete with burned onions. I know it sounds weird, but I love the crunchy burned onions mixed in with the home fries, so Riley makes sure to overcook them just for me. Don’t knock it till you try it.
I loved the peace and quiet of Sunday morning with my coffee, the rain outside, and breakfast being cooked.
Lazy Sunday did not disappoint. While Riley watched football, I got completely sucked into what has become my latest obsession on Netflix: Sons of Anarchy.
Have you ever watched it? It’s so good. So good that I literally spent hours marathoning it. No shame, I’m not even a little bit sorry. Sometimes you just need a good Netflix binge.
I’m back to the real world this morning, which is probably a good thing given my vegetative state yesterday. I’m starting the day with a trip to the gym, then off to work. My tentative workout agenda looks like this:
- Monday- 30 minute treadmill run and ab work
- Tuesday- 6 AM hot yoga class
- Wednesday- 35 minute cardio intervals (adaptive motion trainer), upper body work
- Thursday- rest
- Friday- interval treadmill run and leg work
- Saturday- hot yoga flow
- Sunday- rest
There, now that I’ve written it out it’ll happen exactly the way I planned. Have a good one!
