Hey friends! I missed you all on Friday, but life got crazy at work and I just couldn’t get it together. Hope you guys had a great weekend!
Between all the snow, the freezing cold, and my weird schedule, my workouts and diet took a pretty big hit last week. Monday is the perfect day to hit the reset button, though, so I’m brushing it off and moving on! We’ll get to my workout plan for the week in a minute, but first let me tell you about my short weekend.
Saturday we had an open house at work, so I was running around all morning. After work I had lunch, a nap, and ran some errands before getting ready for date night.
Riley and I had plans to go to Olive Garden since we had a gift card, but once we got there we realized what we really wanted was Mexican food. I’d been craving Mexican all week, so when Riley suggested a change of plans it was like he’d read my mind. We headed up the street to what has become my favorite Mexican restaurant in Williamsburg, La Terrazza. When I get a chance, I’m adding it to my Williamsburg Restaurants page because it’s amazing!
We started out with some Pacifico beer and devoured the chips and salsa basket.
For dinner, I chose their carne asada tacos. I’ve had them before and got them again because they’re seriously incredible.
I got halfway through before I got stuffed, boxed up the leftovers, then forgot to take them with me. Gahhh! I hate it when that happens and I’m notorious for forgetting leftovers at restaurants.
Sunday was mostly spent relaxing and taking care of house stuff, but we took a little excursion around lunch time to go see Riley’s grandma for her birthday.
Speaking of grandmas…..
Mine saved the day yet again when Riley and I got halfway through the Oscars and realized we were out of wine. Remember that time I helped my grandma clear out her liquor cabinet and came home with 18 bottles of alcohol?? Well, we STILL have some and it came in handy last night. I discovered that chambord is quite tasty.
Thanks, G’ma, for saving Oscar night.
And just like that, my weekend was over. Sad day. I’m happy to report that my next three weekends are work-free, however, so I’m excited about that.
Weekly workout plan
As I mentioned, the snow and cold jacked up all my workout plans. As much as I wanted to, I just couldn’t bring myself to go to the gym at 5 AM in 4 degree weather. I did some at-home workouts, but I’ll admit it- for the most part, I slacked off big time.
That’s old news, though! New week, new plan. Here’s what I’ve got on the agenda for this week:
full body workout at home.Haha just kidding. I drank and stayed up to watch the Oscars last night, so today’s a rest day. Judge all you want.
- Tuesday- hot yoga class
- Wednesday- 30 minute steady treadmill run + upper body work
- Thursday- 35 minutes on adaptive motion trainer + ab work
- Friday- HIIT treadmill run + leg work
- Saturday- hot yoga flow class
- Sunday- rest
I’m determined to stick to my plan after last week’s colossal failure. It’s going to be a really busy week at work, too, so I’m counting on some good workouts and healthy meals are going to keep me going.
Have a great day!
What did you do this weekend?
If you had to choose- Mexican or Italian?
Does weird weather mess up your schedule? Please tell me I’m not the only one who surrendered to the cold and chose sitting by the fireplace instead!
