Hey friends, happy Monday! I’m writing to you from Northern VA, where I’ve been since yesterday for work. I’ll be up here visiting high schools and attending college fairs until Wednesday. Yesterday me and two of my co-workers talked to nearly 500 students at a college fair, so I’ll be lucky if I still have a voice by the end of the week!
I’m sure you didn’t come to hear about my work, though. This weekend was a good one, even though it was really only one day. I’ll take what I can get! Friday got started with a quiet evening at home and some delicious grilled sirloin salads with blue cheese and balsamic dressing.
Saturday was absolutely gorgeous and I took full advantage of the beautiful weather to take Bella outside. I can’t walk her too much outside in the summer because she gets overheated really easily. Once the temperatures start to cool down, though, she’s good to go and loves to get out of the house!
I made several failed attempts at capturing a Kelly/Bella selfie, then admitted defeat after a few tries and weird looks from the neighbors.
Saturday night I was craving sushi, so Riley and I headed out to grab some food and saké. I had a spicy tuna roll and an Alaskan roll, which were really good.
We were having a good time and saw there was a band playing next door at Oceans & Ale, so we headed over there for another drink. We agreed to have one beer, see if the band was good, then probably go home. Well, the band turned out to be really good.
The “one more beer” turned into several and we ended up having a later evening than we’d planned. It was completely worth it, though, since Riley and I hadn’t gone out and acted like actual young people in a really long time. It was fun to let loose and have some quality date time!
I’m off to start a loooong day of recruiting, but I’ll be back soon!
What were you up to this weekend?
Do you like sushi?
