Hey, friends, Happy Friday! This week has flown by thanks to Memorial Day and my taking Tuesday off from work. Things have been SUPER chill around here this week and I love it. Work is slow, home is calm, and I’ve been enjoying the down time. I’m excited to get the weekend started and I’m linking up with Katie and Heather to share what’s been making me smile this week!
I snapped up these babies in Orlando as hotel snacks and I’m completely in love. They’re spicy, flavorful, and perfect. They just might replace salt & vinegar as my current favorite.
I started reading the books this past weekend and just saw the first two episodes of the 10-episode “TV event” (what does that even mean?) on Fox. So far I love it! Quick summary in case you have no idea what I’m talking about: secret service guy goes to a tiny town called Wayward Pines to find missing people, gets hit by a truck, then wakes up to a super creepy town that won’t let him leave and won’t tell him what’s going on. That’s a terrible summary, sorry. I just don’t want to give anything away. It’s better than I just made it sound, promise…
Saw this video yesterday and thought they sounded amazing! I love that song by itself when Sia sings it, but the a cappella version is so pretty.
Vegan1 Protein Powders
A few weeks ago, the folks over at Nutrition53 sent me over a package of their vegan protein powders, multivitamin, and sleep aids. I love trying out different protein powders, so I was excited to check out a new-to-me product. What attracted me to accepting the products were the fact that each serving has 20 grams of plant-based, 100% all natural protein. I also loved that there are 22 vitamins and minerals, 5 grams of fiber, and probiotics
They have four flavors- vanilla, chocolate, chai, and banana. My favorite was by far the chai! I’ve been mixing it with almond milk in the shaker bottle they sent me and sipping it at work in the mornings. The only thing I’m not a huge fan of is that it takes forever to dissolve. I’ve found that to be the case with most plant-based proteins I try, however, so it wasn’t a big deal.
I’ve been taking the multivitamin every day, too, which I like, but don’t have anything earth-shattering to report about it. I don’t really take sleeping pills, so I haven’t taken those, but Riley’s tried them a few times and loves them. He said there’s no weird “hangover” feeling the next morning, which is usually the case with sleep aids.
Anyway, I’ve been liking the products a lot so if you’re interested, head on over to the Nutrition53 website!
Disclaimer: I was not compensated for this, but Nutrition53 did provide the products to me free of cost to try out. All opinions are my own and I would never recommend anything I didn’t like just because it was free!
Early morning workouts
I was up bright and early yesterday at 4:30 to hit the gym before work and it felt so great to be back at my local gym. Even better was how empty it was when I walked in (I guess it helps to be the second person in the door…).
Best part about working out early this time of year is that the sun is actually up by the time I leave the gym!
I’m back on my egg/cheese/english muffin kick and made an awesome one yesterday. I took a bite before I decided to take a picture. Whoops! Even though my vacations were awesome this month, it’s nice to be back into a good routine and have my kitchen available.
I guess that’s a good time to wrap it up and get this weekend started! I have zero plans other than coming in to work for a few hours to give a presentation. I think Riley and I will just veg out, relax, and do some house stuff. Maybe I’ll convince him to squeeze in a date with me at some point, too.
Have a great weekend and I’ll see ya Monday!
