Happy Friday!! Man, if America ever needed a weekend….. I’m not even getting into the election results today, but spoiler alert- it’s been a rough week.
That being said….Despite the negativity all around this week (and there’s been so much on both sides), I still believe in our country and in the goodness of the people who call this crazy place home. We believe strongly in our vision of what we want this country to be and I know we won’t always agree, but that freedom to disagree and speak out is part of what makes us great. And since today is Veterans Day, I want to give a special thank you to all the men and women who have bravely served this country.
Now that that’s out of the way, let’s get on with today’s post! Today is Friday Favorites, so I’m linking up with Heather to share what’s made me smile this week.
Riley and I had a mid-week date night on Wednesday and had some wine and yummy food at Culture Cafe. It just reminded me that amidst the stress of the week and politics, I’m lucky enough to go through life with an amazing guy. We spent the time reminiscing about vacations and brain storming where we want to go in May. There are so many choices and I can’t wait to start planning!
It’s no secret I love my job. Part of what makes it awesome is the people I get to work with. My co-worker Yoma and I have worked together for over 8 years. She is amazing and when things get stressful, I know she is always willing to help me eat my feelings.
We took a long lunch Wednesday to escape the stress of the day and stuff our faces with breakfast foods. Not pictured was the toast and plate of potatoes I had on the side.
New York City
Saved the best for last! I’m currently in NYC for the weekend and I’m so pumped. Long time readers will remember my trip from 3 years ago with my mom’s theater students. Well, we’re doing it again and came up yesterday on the bus.
We’re spending the weekend seeing shows and I’ll get to catch up with some of my friends in town. I’ll fill you all in on Monday when I get back.
Have a great weekend!
