Happy Monday! It’s definitely a happy one over here because I’m still enjoying my “staycation” here in Williamsburg. I took Thursday and Friday off of last week and today and tomorrow are holidays, so I’m pretty much loving life.
When we left off on Friday, Riley and I had tackled a bunch of house projects on Thursday, the best of which being our swing/sitting area.
I’ve since added some solar lights and a tiki torch, so I’m excited to spend some summer nights out on my swing.
Friday morning, Riley and I had big plans to tackle more house projects. When we woke up, though, we were just not having it. We were sore, tired, and not feeling it, so we made brunch and went to the beach instead. Typical.
Ahhh, beach. No summer weekend is complete without it in my opinion. We spent the rest of Friday relaxing before it was time for our date night at La Tienda.
We enjoyed an awesome organic rosé and a few rounds of tapas to share.
My favorite was one of their specials- mushrooms, asparagus, and manchego cheese in a white wine sauce. So good! The picture does not do it justice.
Saturday morning Riley went back to work and I went back to house chores. I deep cleaned everything, did some additional yard projects, and organized the garage.
You know you’re in your 30s when the sight of an organized garage makes you giddy. If anyone else out there is organizing their garage this summer, I bought the big plastic shelving units for just $30 on Amazon. Hugh life saver!
Sunday was designated as a “Kelly Day.” I decided to shun all chores and only do things that made me happy. From a personal maintenance standpoint, I was also in desperate need of some upkeep after a month of doing manual labor in my time off.
I started my Kelly Day by laying in bed until 10:30. Because I could.
Followed by a nice run at the gym. After showering, I treated myself to a mani/pedi.
Then it was time for a visit to the Salt Spa, courtesy of a gift certificate from my parents.
I got the gift certificate for Christmas and kept hanging on to it for “when I really needed it.” Well, considering I probably should’ve used it at least 10 times since Christmas, I was pretty psyched to finally cash it in! I enjoyed a 45 minute session in their Himalayan salt cave, followed by a 60 minute massage.
Best day ever. I even made a pitcher of “spa” water, using a cucumber (from our backyard!), lemons, and lemon basil leaves.
Today’s plans include some yoga or barre and some other house stuff. I also bought a new book I’m excited to read. Has anyone read “The Husband’s Secret” by Liane Moriarty? It seems pretty popular so I think I’ll dig into that.
Hope you all have a great Monday!
What was the highlight of your weekend?
If you could have any spa treatment today (for free!), which would you pick?
