Heeeey, happy Friday! Nothin’ like a two day work week to put me in the weekend spirit. I’ve got a million pictures to go through from our St. Thomas trip, but I’ll hopefully have some recap posts up for you in the next couple weeks. In the meantime, here’s a teaser pic:
I took that photo with my iPhone from the side of the road driving up the hill in St. John. The views there are incredible! Moving on to today’s goodness, I’m linking up with Katie and Heather to share what’s making me smile today.
One day green juice reset
I saw this post yesterday over at Pumps & Iron and immediately pinned it. Something about eating crap and drinking your weight in Red Stripe for a week will make you crave greens like crazy! After we got back I sent Riley on a mission to buy ALL the vegetables at the store, so maybe I’ll whip something like this up.
Panera’s Mediterranean Chicken & Quinoa Salad
Speaking of greens, check out what’s new at Panera!
I went out for lunch yesterday and ordered this baby. It was delicious! As soon as I sat down I thought “there’s no way I’m finishing all this!” but I ended up eating every last bite. It’s made with kale, lettuce, cucumbers, chicken, quinoa, slivered almonds and a whole bunch of other good stuff that made for an awesome lunch.
Mango Iced Tea
Another Panera find. This may come as a surprise, but no, they don’t pay me for all the publicity I give them. This unsweetened tea has become a new favorite of mine. I’m not positive it’s new, but I never noticed it until yesterday so I’m gonna assume it’s a new addition.
Reuniting with the fur babies
It’s embarrassing how much I miss the pets when we’re gone. I demand daily photos from the pet sitters and try to befriend every animal I see during the trip. Luckily, we had a little housemate named Charlie at the house where we stayed, which helped a lot!
Getting back into the gym
My sneakers didn’t get much action when I was on vacation. And by “much” I mean none because I didn’t bring them. We didn’t have a gym or any place safe to run outside, so I got my exercise walking the beaches, hiking a bit, and snorkeling. It was fine for vacation, but I’m itching to get out there and do some running. I also plan on hitting up a good hot yoga class tomorrow morning!
Every summer, the campus dress code lightens up a bit and we get to dress less formal than normal. This is great because it gets HOT here in the summer! I always have a hard time finding outfits that are more summery, but still look professional. I’ve been browsing Pinterest and found a couple I love.
As if I should be spending any more money right now. Ha! Today is pay day, though, sooooo….
On that note, I’m headed off to work. I don’t have a lot of plans for the weekend except getting caught up on my DVR shows, sleeping in, and grilling out with Riley. It’ll be totally low-key and exactly what I’m looking for right now.
Have a great weekend!
What are you most looking forward to this weekend?
Does your job make you dress up in the summer?
Do you work out on the weekends or just during the week? I actually love working out on the weekends because #1) it’s not at 5 AM and, #2) I can take my time. I can’t exactly take a 90 minute yoga class before a busy work day, so having the weekends gives me time to really savor my workouts!
