Three days off, gone in a flash! While most of you were barbecuing, going to the beach, and being social for Labor Day weekend, I was blissfully doing……well, nothing. It felt awesome.
I don’t know if Bella was glued to my side because she loved the down time too, or if she was trying to get my attention and make me stop being so boring.
Saturday morning, Riley and I discovered a new favorite brunch spot in Williamsburg, Honey Butter’s Kitchen. After a night of hanging out and drinking wine at home, we were on the search for some good
hangover brunch food before running errands and shopping. The restaurant was in a little strip mall and didn’t seem like much, but when we walked in and saw the place was COMPLETELY packed, we knew we’d found something awesome. Apparently, everyone else knew about this place but us!
I ordered the garden omelet, which had spinach, tomatoes, mushrooms, and peppers inside. On the side I had rye toast and garlic home fries.
We’ve already decided we’re going back this weekend. It was amazing.
That was really the biggest outing of the whole weekend. In between cleaning out my closet, napping, and watching Netflix obsessively, I did make time to introduce Riley into the world of banana ice cream. I mixed PB in with mine this time around it was fantastic.
We also had a Mexican themed day on Saturday, complete with homemade guacamole, burritos for dinner, and of course, some cold Coronas.
Sunday included another great brunch, this time courtesy of Chef Riley.
Followed by more Netflix…..
And that brings us back into the real world today. I’m hitting the gym hard this morning and getting down to business at work, so time to bring back the motivation!
In an effort to be accountable, here’s my tentative workout plan for the week:
- Monday- Netflix…..I thought about running, but then the screen said, “next episode starts in…..”
- Tuesday- 30 minute run and kettlebells (swings, squats, figure 8’s, etc.)
- Wednesday- HIIT treadmill run (hills + sprints), medicine ball ab workout
- Thursday- Hot yoga
- Friday- Elliptical + legs
- Saturday- Outdoor run
- Sunday- Off
