Hey friends! I’m coming to you from my living room today because I’m officially on Christmas break! The university is closed for the next two weeks and I’m so excited to relax, sleep in past 5AM, spend time with family and friends, and just take a break from work. I feel so lucky to have a job that gives me that kind of time off during the holidays, so I plan to make the most of it.
The past couple days were a whirlwind to finish up work before we closed, but we found some time to celebrate again as an office. I know, after that past week and a half you must think all I do is go to parties. Monday was our luncheon at Travinia Italian Kitchen, which is one of my favorite spots. Even though we just had the chili cook-off on Friday, I just love hanging out with my co-workers, so another chance to do that is even better.
I had their house salad and margherita flatbread for lunch. That place never disappoints!
I also won a couple of the superlatives that were given out, the least surprising of which was the “early bird” award.
Now that we’re closed for the holidays, I’ll be spending the rest of the week doing fun holiday things with Riley and the family. I’m also planning to see my best childhood girlfriends this weekend, which is one of my favorite annual traditions.
I’ll be in and out over the next couple weeks because I want to soak up as much time as possible away from the computer. As always, though, you can find me on Instagram if you miss me (which you will, obviously).
Have a great Wednesday!
Do you get a lot of time off for the holidays?
