Oh man, I’ve been waiting for this day since….well, since Monday. I’m so pumped about this weekend because I’ve got both days off! It’s been a few weeks since I had a proper weekend, so let’s get this day started!
#1. Pumpkin O cereal from Trader Joe’s.
This stuff is so good. I grabbed it on a whim when I was in Trader Joe’s and I’m so glad I did. It’s basically pumpkin-flavored whole grain cheerios, and they’re super tasty. I’ve been eating mine with banana slices and cashew butter on top.
#2. Fall weather
Down here in Southeastern VA it takes a little while longer for fall to kick in. The leaves are now changing colors in Williamsburg and the temps have cooled down to boot-wearing weather. I enjoyed the fall colors earlier this week while walking around Colonial Williamsburg.
#3. Visits from family
Earlier this week, my sister came down to Williamsburg with my niece, Annabelle. I hadn’t seen either of them in forever, so I took an afternoon off from work to hang out with them. We shopped and walked around Colonial Williamsburg for several hours, enjoying the beautiful weather.
Annabelle and I had a blast taking silly-face selfies together. Man, I love that kid.
Oh yeah, I guess I should add in a Happy Halloween today. To be honest, I’m only throwing this one in here because I’ll look like a scrooge if I don’t. Halloween’s probably my least favorite holiday. I don’t enjoy spiders and ghosts as decoration and the post-Halloween “take all my leftover candy” pushing at the office gets old. WOW, that makes me sound really grumpy, so I’m just gonna quit now.
The upside to Halloween is seeing cute little kids come to your door for candy. See? I ended on a positive note!
P.S. for the record, I Googled “I hate Halloween” and confirmed that I am not alone in this.
#5. Our one Halloween pumpkin
Why only one pumpkin you ask? Good story, actually. Riley came home from the grocery store with a pumpkin and the convo went like this:
- Riley: “Here, I got one pumpkin. We’re only doing one pumpkin this year.”
- Me: “Ummm, ok? I’ll bite, why just one pumpkin? We usually each get one and carve them together.”
- Riley: “I just don’t think we should overdo it.”
- Me: “Oh…right. Yeah, we should just stick with the one. If we had more than one pumpkin the neighbors would DEFINITELY start talking.”
Who says they don’t want to “overdo” it on pumpkins?!?! Haha, I can’t even…Now to hope I can get that sucker carved up before trick-or-treating time.
On that note, it’s time to get this weekend started. Have a wonderful weekend, a great Halloween (if that’s your thing), and I’ll see you on Monday!
