Who’s excited it’s Friday? I’m pretty pumped that it’s aaaaalmost the weekend. I say that because I’ll be working until 8 or 9 tonight and then I have an event tomorrow on campus. BUT! Once that’s over it’s naps and naps and naps. I plan on doing very little with my remaining weekend time.
Despite the stress, there have been some awesome things about this week! In my usual fashion, I thought I’d share some of them with you today.
Return of Scandal
Ahhh! I’ve been waiting so long. And because I couldn’t stay up late last night to watch the season premier, I’ll have to wait a little longer, so don’t spoil anything for me! Scandal is one of my favorite shows and I’m super pumped it’s back.
Not going to lie, I need to brush up on what happened in season 5 so I’m all caught up, but I know what I’ll be doing tomorrow afternoon after work!
Charity Pot by Lush
I got this lotion from my mom as a stocking stuffer on Christmas and I’m in love! The money goes to small grassroots organizations working in the areas of environmental conservation, animal welfare and human rights. It’s also made with all natural, fair trade ingredients. The best part, though, is how amazing it makes my skin feel! My skin gets ridiculously dry and rough in the winter, so this has been a life-saver.
The smell isn’t necessarily the best, but once it’s absorbed into your skin it doesn’t really smell like much. It’s pretty expensive, but I will definitely be buying some more once I run out!
We started out our evening with a drink (champagne for me!) and the food just kept getting better from there.
The highlights were definitely the pureed French onion soup…
And the Crème brûlée for dessert.
So decadent! I’ll be on a diet for the next month, in case you’re wondering.
Cleaning time savers
Whenever I have weeks like this one (crazy long and busy) I don’t let the stress overtake my life or show in my house. I’m the kind of person who needs a clean, uncluttered house to stay sane! It’s not unusual for me to vacuum the floors in my business suit so that when I finally sit down I don’t have to see a running to-do list in my mind.
I’ve gotten the house cleaning down to a pretty efficient system. I know it seems really silly to feature a cleaning product on my favorites list, but this stuff is amazing.
I know some people aren’t into using chemicals to clean their house, but I just haven’t gotten around to making my own multipurpose spray. This Clorox spray foams up and literally dissolves mildew on surfaces.
When I’m in a hurry, I spray it all over the bathroom counters, shower, and inside the toilet, then let it do it’s thing for a minute or two. By the time I go back into the bathroom, any spots in the shower (bottom of the shower liner, anyone?) or toilet are gone and with a quick wipe of a paper towel the whole room is spotless. If you love being in a clean house, but don’t have a lot of time, I highly recommend this stuff!
Honorable mentions go to the Swiffer wet jet, Swiffer duster, and those Arm & Hammer carpet freshening powders.
Captain the Vampire Cat
And because it’s Friday, I have to end this list with funny animal photo. Captain cracks me up all the time, but nothing is quite as adorably awkward as his teeth. His nickname in our house is “Snaggletooth” thanks to his little vampire-like fangs.
He was so cute as a kitten. I really don’t know what happened.
Have a great weekend everyone!
