Happy Friday! I’m officially on vacation for the next 17 days. This is the best. day. ever.
I’ve got a crap-ton of Christmas shopping to do, but I wanted to pop in and tell you about the things that have been making me smile this week. I’ll be linking up with Katie and Heather today, so enjoy!
“Oh God, it’s Mom..”
Two sons sharing opposing arguments on C-Span when their own mother calls in. The first part had me cracking up.
Sriracha on eggs
I’ve been eating eggs almost every day this week and I can’t get enough! I made mine with spinach and feta, with some sriracha on top. I literally put it on everything now it seems. Growing up, my parents used to put ketchup on eggs so I did too, thinking it was totally normal. Well, it’s not normal and I’ve now discovered a much better sauce for eggs. They also put A-1 on steak every time, which is also gross.
Think of it as Birch Box, but drug store stuff and only $5 a season. I signed up on a whim and recently received my “winter” box.
I was pretty happy with the selection inside! My favorite so far is the Aveeno lotion. It doesn’t have much of a smell, but it’s making my skin feel super soft. For $5 every 3 months, how could I resist that? It doesn’t have a ton of stuff, but for that price it’s a fun little surprise to show up in the mail, so I’ll probably keep doing it.
Ugh, I know. Who AM I. I’ve given in, though. She’s perfection and I want to be her BFF. I was starting to turn the corner when Shake it Off came out, but then this happened:
The greatness of this song resulted in my sending the following text to one of my girlfriends.
Last night after work, I met up with a friend to check out the newest restaurant in Williamsburg- Paul’s Deli New Town. Paul’s has been a well-loved local spot in Williamsburg for years and the owners just recently opened up a new one closer to our house, which is a total win in my book.
The place was packed! When a new place opens in Williamsburg, the whole damn town shows up, so I wasn’t surprised. I managed to get the last seats at the two long bars they had. The new place is a lot like the old one, with the same food and fun atmosphere, but without all the college kids and sticky floors.
And that’s all I’ve got for you today! I’m off for some holiday shopping, then hitting the gym this afternoon. It feels amazing to not have to work out in the pitch-black early morning. Hope you have a fantastic weekend!
