Happy Thursday! I’m spending the day on a mini road trip with a co-worker. We’re headed up to Northern VA to check out two hotels as possible sites for a work reception. I hear free lunch is being provided by one of the hotels, so already I know it’ll be a good day.
I thought today I’d share a fun survey I saw on Jessie’s blog earlier this week. It’s all things food and fitness, so feel free to play along in the comments section below.
Food and Fitness Survey
What did you eat for breakfast?
Greek yogurt and a banana. I spent the whole month July eating eggs and bacon and now it looks like August will be the month of fruit and yogurt. So funny how we go through phases like that!
How much water do you a drink a day?
I keep a 24 oz. bottle in my purse at all times and probably go through 2-3 a day. Plus I drink a glass in the morning and have one by my bed at night. Dehydration is not an issue for me.
What is your favorite workout?
I’m torn between running and yoga. I think when you do both you get a great balance, though, so I’m gonna go with both.
What is your favorite fruit?
Bananas. No real explanation for that one, I just like ’em.
What is your favorite vegetable?
Potatoes. I know, it’s not a “sexy” veggie like kale or spaghetti squash (is spaghetti squash still “in” or is that passe?). What can I say, though, the old potato will always be a favorite.
What are your favorite healthy snacks?
Cheese? Is that a healthy snack? Um, ok I’ll go with chips. Wait, that’s not healthy either. Crap. To be honest, when I’m in a snacking mood, I’m not usually reaching for carrot sticks. Give me the chips allll day long.
What do you usually eat for lunch?
These days it’s been a lot of ham sandwiches. We ran out of bread last week and Riley and I both thought we were responsible for picking it up, so we ended up with way too much bread when we both showed up at home with grocery bags. Hence the sandwiches. I also pack a lot of whatever leftovers are on hand, too.
What is your favorite and least body part to train?
Favorite is a tie between legs and abs. Least favorite is arms. I’m lucky if I do one arm workout a week. And most of the time I’m not that lucky, so don’t ask me to lift anything for you.
What are your ‘bad’ food cravings?
I’d say pizza, but how can something so good be called “bad”? You’ve got your calcium from the cheese, your vitamins from the tomato sauce, your protein from the pepperoni….Ok, I know I’m reaching. That answer is pizza, though. Always pizza.
How often do you eat out?
These days, not so much. We’ve been on a pretty strict budget lately, but we did venture out for brunch the other day, which was awesome.
How do you stay motivated?
I think being lazy just isn’t really in my nature. I was raised in a house where my dad had that old lion and gazelle story posted on our fridge. It was kind of like our family motto.
Who is your biggest supporter?
My mom. Let’s be honest, does anyone have a bigger supporter than their mom? Riley’s a huge supporter of mine, obviously, but Momma’s always going to be my biggest cheerleader.
Do you have a gym membership?
Technically, I have two. I have my regular gym and my hot yoga membership.
How often do you work out?
On average, 4 days a week. Sometimes more, sometimes less.
Are you a ‘morning’ or ‘night’ workout type of person?
Morning! If I don’t get it in first thing, it’s not getting done.
Do you have a “cheat” day?
Nope. I don’t believe in cheat days. I’m probably most relaxed about food on Sundays, because of Riley’s amazing brunches, but otherwise I try to stay pretty balanced all week.
