What a fun weekend, you guys! I seriously love it when I get to see friends and try new things. Bonus points if I get a ton of sleep. Luckily for me, I got both of those things this weekend!
Friday night was suuuper chill. I had a long day and a killer headache, so I wasn’t in the mood to do much other than sleep. I turned in early and got over 9 glorious hours of rest!
Saturday morning started off early with a 5 mile run at the gym and a fast cleaning session around the house. Nothing like hitting your 10k step goal by 10 AM!
Later Saturday morning, my best friend Megan arrived in town. We went to The Cheese Shoppe for sandwiches and took a long walk through colonial Williamsburg.
Later Saturday evening, once Riley got home, the three of us headed over to Room Escape Williamsburg to try our hands at an escape room.
Have you guys ever done one of these?? SO fun! I am super theatrical, so of course I got way too into it. The theme was that we were bank robbers who had one hour to get into the vault and steal diamonds before the police came. I kept claiming that my 8 months working at a bank would be an asset to the team. It didn’t help.
The three of us did pretty well! We each solved a couple clues on our own and they were all pretty challenging. According to the website it had about a 30% solve rate. We solved it with just a minute to spare and talked about the room all night afterwards. I can’t wait to try another one!
Sunday morning started off with a barre class. Megan had never taken barre before, so I was glad to introduce her to one of my favorite workouts. My friend Tara was also at class and we hadn’t hung out in a while, so we made plans to go bowling later that day.
Sunday afternoon I met up with Tara and her son for 3 rounds of bowling and a beer.
I was pretty awful the first two rounds, but came back to win the third one!
The rest of my day was spent vegging out on the couch with Coco, who was thrilled. The weather was super dreary and kind of chilly, so it was great to have time to curl up under a blanket and snuggle.
In preparation for our Paris trip, I’ve started to watch some of the documentaries on Netflix about champagne in France and how it’s made. Super interesting! If you have any good documentary suggestions, let me know.
Now I’m off for what will helpfully be my last 5 day work week of the season. Have a great Monday!
