I felt like switching up my usual WIAW post, so I thought I’d do a Day In The Life. I know I love reading these when others do it, so I’m tying in What I Ate Wednesday (Linking up with Jenn) with my day on Monday. Enjoy!
A Day In The Life Of Kelly
4:30 AM: Hit snooze….
4:40 AM: Drag myself out of bed, brush teeth, put on gym clothes and head out the door.
5:00 AM: Arrive at the gym right at opening time and start working out. Workout was a 35 minute run followed by ab work with a medicine ball. Finish up with some stretching.
5:50 AM: Leave gym and head home.
6:00 AM: Riley’s in the shower, so I throw a banana, ice, almond milk, and a couple big handfuls of spinach and baby kale into my bullet blender.
6:20 AM: Shower, dress, makeup, and get ready for work.
7:00 AM: Out the door and into morning traffic!
7:35 AM: Arrive at work, check voicemails and emails before heading out for a work breakfast. I ate a light post-workout breakfast because I knew there’d be food at my morning event.
8:00 AM: Some high school guidance counselors are doing a biking tour of Virginia colleges, so we provided coffee and breakfast for them. I nibbled on some fruit and sampled the eggs, but it wasn’t all that great so I drank three cups of coffee instead. The counselors were SO nice and we spent some time talking about our school and chatting with them.
9:30 AM: Finally in my office and have time to get to work. Spend the next few hours putting out fires, answering phone calls, doing weekly data reports and more exciting stuff.
12:30 PM: Break for lunch. I packed a ham and swiss sandwich, a banana, a Greek yogurt, and a sparkling ice. I tried the new Oikos Triple Zero yogurt, which is made with stevia extract and has healthier ingredients. I loved it and will definitely pick it up again.
1:30 PM: Back to work for the next few hours. I take a break mid-afternoon to type up yesterday’s blog post.
4:55 PM: Sneak out of work 5 minutes early to try and beat traffic. Sadly, it doesn’t work. Spend the next hour cussing out other drivers, then angrily hang up on Riley because he has the audacity to ask me to pick up a bag of ice on my way home. Not the best hour of my day, haha.
6:00 PM: Finally home! When I get there, Riley’s cooking dinner and my friend Danielle is there hanging out. Time to change into my comfy clothes and pour a glass of wine.
7:00 PM: Dinner time. Riley cooked up some pasta, baked chicken breasts and tossed it all with cucumber, jalapeno, feta cheese, olives, and a bunch of other good stuff. I don’t even know all of what he used, but it was fantastic and I can’t wait to have the leftovers. I also had a slice of toasted French bread with artichoke spread on top.
8:00 PM: Time for the Bachelorette! Danielle and I tried to keep up with what was going on, but this season hasn’t been very good and we ended up spending most of the show chatting in our PJs and catching up on life.
10:30 PM: Totally wiped out, so now it’s time for bed!
Now I can’t believe we’re already halfway through the work week! I’ve got a lot on the agenda today, so I better run. Can’t wait to hear what you’ve been eating lately!
What did you have for lunch yesterday?
What’s your favorite way to eat pasta?
