Someone please tell me why weekends are two days instead of three. The past couple days flew by way too fast, but it was a great weekend!
Saturday morning started out rainy and dreary. I went to a 75-minute hot vinyasa class then got the house cleaned in preparation for Megan’s visit. Megan got in Saturday afternoon and we spent the afternoon catching up and watching movies. In honor of our recent 30th birthdays we broke out the drinks a littler earlier than usual. Nothing like drinking prosecco at 4:30 in the afternoon and watching cheesy chick flicks with your best friend. 🙂
For dinner, Riley made some homemade pizza- spinach, prosciutto, and 3 cheese (fontina, ricotta, mozzarella). It was amazing, as usual.
After dinner, we though briefly about going out and doing something, then realized we have just as much fun hanging out in our PJs, so that’s exactly what we did. We played Cards Against Humanity with Riley, which was a blast. If you’ve never played that game, you should go buy it immediately.
Sunday morning started with blue skies and sunshine. Since it was so beautiful out, Megan and I decided to take Bella on a long walk in Colonial Williamsburg. The baby sheep are out and about, which means spring is definitely here. They were so freaking cute, frolicking around and being all fluffy.
When we got back to the house, Riley was cooking us breakfast. We fired up the juicer while he cooked and juiced an apple and a pint of strawberries.
After breakfast, Megan headed back home to D.C. Her visit was way too short, but I’m so glad she was able to make it down.
After Megan left, Coco and I spent a couple hours lounging in bed reading, napping, and enjoying the breeze from the open windows. Nothing like perfect weather and open windows on a lazy Sunday!
Later in the day Riley and I decided to get productive, so we did some work on the deck and back yard. Bleaching and scrubbing a deck is no joke, you guys. My arms are super sore, but at least the deck looks nice again.
For dinner, Riley grilled up some burgers and I made a homemade pasta salad, which turned out surprisingly well considering I’m usually terrible at “winging it” in the kitchen.
And just like that, my weekend was over. Today I’m headed up to Northern Virginia for a couple days. We’re hosting some evening receptions for admitted students and I’m looking forward to getting out of the office.
Hope you guys had a great weekend and I can’t wait to hear all about it!
What was the highlight of your weekend?
