Oh man, I just feel drained……Between work stuff and the house shopping situation, we had a bit of a scare yesterday and it’s thrown me off my game. Yesterday morning, I got a call from Riley saying he thought Bella may have had a stroke. She’d been sick everywhere, couldn’t stand, and was acting disoriented and strange. After clawing my way through traffic to get back to Williamsburg, I finally made it to the vet’s office. By that point, they were just about finished up and it looks like our pup will probably be fine.
Apparently, Bella had sudden onset “Old Dog Vestibular Syndrome.” Basically, something in her inner ears caused all kinds of vertigo and equilibrium issues, which is why she got so sick. The vet gave her a shot and we’ll have to give her medicine for the next few days, but hopefully it should clear up. It was a scary and sad reminder that my best girl is almost 15 years old.
Riley stayed home with her yesterday while I went back to work. I’m glad I came home, though, just to give them both a big hug. I can only imagine how upset I would’ve been if I’d found her in that state.
In other news, the townhouse we wanted? Well, we didn’t get it. The sellers wouldn’t even budge from their asking price. C‘est la vie! It’s not meant to be, so time to do some more shopping. If anyone in Williamsburg would like to sell me their completely remodeled, walking-distance-to-everything, adorable house for dirt cheap, I’m all ears.
How about we move on to something a little more positive, like eating? In between all the work, I managed to snap pictures of my meals and snacks for What I Ate Wednesday. Here’s what I was eating on Monday!
I drank a Suja probiotic drink on the way to work. They were buy one, get one free at the store! Once I got to work, I dug into a blueberry muffin oatmeal cup and some hot tea. I’m in a “try all the oatmeal cups” phase right now. The ones from Target are pretty damn tasty! I had a chai spice one yesterday that hit the spot. Eventually, I’ll get ambitious enough to make my own, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves.
I had a green juice right before my lunch break, then went to Moe’s for a chicken burrito bowl. I piled my bowl high with black beans, cucumber, grilled onions, peppers, mushrooms, pico de gallo, sour cream, jalapeno, cilantro, and lime juice. It was super filling!
Later on in the afternoon, I ate a couple squares of this spicy dark chocolate.
For dinner, I made a quick and delicious salad. I put some turkey and cheese on top for protein and made a dressing of lemon balsamic vinegar, olive oil, fresh lemon juice, salt/pepper, and parsley. It was fantastic! After dinner, I cracked open a spiked seltzer water in an orange flavor that was pretty tasty.
Then finished up my day in bed with a hot mug of tea.
What’s the best thing you ate yesterday?
