Happy Thursday! First, let me start by saying I made it a goal yesterday to check out as many blogs as possible on yesterday’s WIAW link-up and it resulted in me making a grocery list that will put me in the poor-house. Next week, I’ll give myself a cut-off. This week is keeping me super busy, so I’m keeping today’s post short and sweet. I’ve noticed over the past few months that even doing hot yoga just once a week has helped strengthen my core. It’s making everything stronger, actually. All that time spent in down dog is working my arms and abs, and all the lunging and warrior poses are definitely strengthening my legs and butt.
Today’s workout is all about the abs. Like many of my workouts, it was made up on the fly at the gym last week and I hurried to write it down because I enjoyed it so much. You can do the whole thing once for a quickie ab workout in 5 minutes, or go through it a couple times depending on what you’re feeling. The only thing you’ll need for this is an interval timer. You can just use the timer on your phone, but I use this app (it’s free!) because I can create a whole program and it just beeps at me in-between sets.
Here are some videos for moves you might not be familiar with:
Ab pulses (fast-forward to 4:10 to see the move)-
Downward dog crunches- this video shows her doing it fast, but slow and controlled is the way to go with these.
Hope you like it! If you’re looking for some other ab workouts, here a couple of my favorites, or you can check out the workouts tab up top.
