Happy Tuesday! I hope you all had a great weekend. Because of Memorial Day and my Fridays off, I had a nice long one over here. There was a lot of beach time involved too, which you know is my favorite thing!
Friday morning started at my cousin’s house. We drove down to the oceanfront area of Virginia Beach and grabbed some brunch to start our day. I ordered the avocado toast and it basically came with a salad on top, but I was not complaining. It was delicious!
There’s avocado and toast under there, I swear. After brunch, we spent a couple hours reading on the beach.
We took our sunbathing to the pool after a couple hours because the crazy wind had us COVERED in sand. I braved the weekend traffic back to Williamsburg after that and just relaxed at home until Riley got off work.
Saturday morning involved working for a few hours, but then I really spent the rest of Saturday and Sunday hanging out around the house. I napped with Coco, hung out on the back deck, and did some packing. I’ve also been selling off all of our worldly belongings so I don’t have to pack them, so if you want to come shopping at my house, be my guest. I’ve been purging like crazy!
Yesterday was a great day because Riley actually had the day off with me! It’s rare when that happens, so we wanted to make the most of it. After a classic Chef Riley brunch, we suited up and headed to our favorite local beach on the river.
I started reading the Woman in Cabin 10 and so far I really like it. As of writing this post I was more than halfway through. I have a sinking feeling it’s going to keep me up way past my bedtime.
After we were done with the beach, we checked out a new place in Williamsburg, Revolution Golf and Grille, which just opened last week. They have HD golf simulator pods you can rent by the hour, so I thought Riley would really enjoy it.
The simulator itself wasn’t quite as accurate as I think Riley would’ve liked, but they had a ton of games you could play, so we still had fun. They had a huge bar and serve food, so it was a fun way to spend an hour and try something different. Riley also gave me some tips to help me with my abysmal golf skills, but I don’t know that they helped much. I’m pretty hopeless.
The rest of our Memorial Day was spent at home in our comfy clothes, sipping on cider and making pimiento cheeseburger sliders. It was a pretty perfect way to end the weekend!
Now I’ve only got a 2 day work week because we close on our house on Thursday! I’m equal parts nervous and excited. There’s so much to do and I spent a wee bit more time beaching than actually packing/planning for all the work ahead. Wish me luck!
How did you spend your weekend?
Do you/have you played a sport? Which one?
