What a great weekend! I’m in full packing/organizing mode with our move coming up, but I took several breaks to make sure I didn’t get stressed out. I’ve officially gotten the living and dining rooms packed up and ready to go, which included several trips to the dumpster and 2 trips to Goodwill. The pets are not thrilled with me.
Friday involved a trip to my favorite beach for a couple hours to soak in some sun.
Followed by more packing…..
Friday evening, we met up with our friends Tara and Brendan for some drinks and dinner.
After a long day, I was in bed super early, which meant I was awake by 6 am Saturday morning. I took advantage of the early quiet by going for a run in Colonial Williamsburg.
My legs felt like they weighed a million pounds for some reason, so I kept my run short and spent some extra time walking. It was a gorgeous morning and I spent a lot of time snapping pics in their gardens.
By the time I was done, the weekly farmer’s market was in full swing. I enjoyed some really yummy grapefruit kombucha at one of the tents.
The company, Ninja Kombucha, is based out of Richmond, so if you’re fairly local I’d check them out. I didn’t remember seeing them before, so I hope they’re a permanent fixture at the market.
Saturday afternoon was consumed with more packing and cleaning. It’s incredible- you never realize how much crap you have until you have to move. I was so tired by the time Riley got home from work, but I felt super accomplished. Luckily, the temperatures had cooled down a lot, so I took a blanket out back with me and spent some time on the deck with my kindle and the pets.
I was literally falling asleep on my recliner by 9:30….
Sunday morning was a nice treat because Riley had the day off with me! He made a delicious brunch for us both while I sipped coffee and browsed Pinterest.
Later on, Riley suggested we check out the LPGA tournament, since it was in Williamsburg. I’m not really into golf, but he got me with “we could spend some time outside and walk.” Yes, I am like the dog. If you mention “outside” and “walk” I’m sold!
We managed to get free tickets, so it was a relatively cheap date for the afternoon. We walked the back 9 holes and saw all of the famous golfers.
The course itself is beautiful. With water views for many of the holes, it was a pretty fantastic way to spend a few hours and get some exercise. We left early to beat the crowds and get back home, but not before we saw the eventual winner, Lexi Thompson, play a round.
That girl is awesome! I got a total girl crush on her when I followed her on Instagram and stalked pictures/videos of her workout regimen. I am definitely inspired to get it done at the gym today!
Now it’s back to the office for me. On my to-do list includes the annoying process of arranging utilities and carpet cleaners. Speaking of utilities, anyone have experience with DirecTV? We are thinking of switching, since our current company is overcharging us by a ton.
Anyway, have a great Monday!
What was the best part of your weekend?
Do you watch/play golf?
Do you like kombucha? I’m fairly new to it. The whole scoby thing freaks me out, so I’ve avoided it until recently. As long as it’s just the drink by itself, though, I think I really like it!
