Happy Wednesday! I hope your week is going well. Life is all good over here. I’m just plugging away at work and counting down to the weekend! I haven’t done a day-in-the-life style post in a little while, but I always love it when other bloggers do this, so I thought I’d take you all through my day on Monday.
I actually prepared myself for the week on Sunday, so I wanted to share how it played out. Sunday night before I went to bed, I grabbed the Notes app on my phone and made a list for the week that I would try and stick to: meals, workout, and outfits.
Something about just following your own instructions rather than having to make a million decisions first thing in the morning is so refreshing! Now that I see it on the big screen, I realize it also makes me look suuuuper OCD, but I swear I’m not. In fact, if I get this organized again in the next 4 months, somebody give me a medal. Anyway, here’s how things went down.
5:00 AM- Alarm goes off, get dressed, and head to the gym. Run for 30 minutes and do some leg work in the weight area.
That picture’s actually from yesterday, but I figured you needed a visual.
6:15 AM- Head home and drink a glass of the green juice I made the day before. I put cucumbers, celery, a bag of spinach, green apples, and lemon in mine.
Try to convince Bella to go for a quick walk. She’s usually all about this, but she wasn’t super excited to leave her cozy bed and new toy.
Luckily, she rallied.
6:40 AM- Hop in the shower and get ready for work.
7:10 AM- Throw together a quick protein smoothie for the road. In my smoothie went chocolate protein powder, frozen banana, peanut butter, almond milk, and spirulina powder. That dark green color really freaked me out, but according to the internet, spirulina’s really good for you. If it’s on the internet it must be true.
8:00 AM- Arrive at work and get down to business. Monday reports, approving timesheets, looking over numbers, yada yada yada. Make myself a cup of coffee.
8:30-12:00– Work! I meet with some prospective students, do an interview, and stop by a meeting.
12:00 PM- Lunch time. I heat up the meal I prepped on Sunday. It looked prettier the day before, but it tastes really good.
1:00-5:00 PM- More work. Things are kind of slow around the office at the moment, but I know it won’t last long. I take a break mid-afternoon for a honeycrisp apple. They’re the only kind of apple I get excited about and Aldi has bags of them for $4.99!
Not pictured, but worth noting, is the two Reese’s PB cups I ate.
5:00 PM- Evening commute time. Listen to the news on the radio while I drive and get home around 5:40. Throw on my comfy clothes and snuggle the pets.
6:00 PM- Have dinner, courtesy of Riley. He makes a Mediterranean pasta salad with olives, peppers, onion, capers, feta cheese, and goddess dressing. It’s so good and I end up going back for seconds.
Lounge on the couch with Coco for a while and Riley and I catch up on Modern Family episodes. Yes, she literally sprawled out on her back on my lap like that. She kills me.
8:00 PM- My eyes are starting to droop and I’m getting so tired. I decide to skip watching the Redskins game and take some tea up to bed instead.
9:00 PM- Lights out after reading for a while. I slept like a champ 🙂
Not too bad for a Monday, right? I totally credit prepping on Sunday with things going so smoothly. Being able to just grab my lunch out of the fridge and toss it in my work bag was amazing. Considering I literally ate out every day last week, I really needed to do a better job making things ahead of time!
How much do you prepare ahead of time for the week?
Do you consider yourself OCD? I will admit to being a clean freak. Maybe having 3 pets kind of forces me to be, but I feel like I can’t truly relax if my house is a mess.
