Hey there! I hope your week is going well so far. I’m am back home and it feels awesome! I’m here until Sunday, then I leave again, but four days at home is still pretty great.
Last time we talked I was in northern VA doing some college fairs and visits. Things went really well during my trip. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that my Courtyard gave you free breakfast if you’re Gold, which I just so happen to be. I started off my Monday with their vanilla chia seed pudding with fruit and coconut.
It was amazing! It was also made with almond milk, so any of you dairy-free folks should really consider Courtyard hotels. I was really impressed.
The rest of Monday was looooong. I had three high school visits, a disappointing trip to the Whole Foods salad bar, then drove 45 minutes to help out a co-worker with a college fair. They fed us a pretty sweet dinner- pasta, salad, and cheesy bread.
I definitely went back for more cheesy bread.
By the time my fair was over, I’d been at it for 12 hours and I was so done! I didn’t last long at my hotel before passing out.
Yesterday morning I managed to find a hair tie (yay!), so I hit up the hotel gym for a 2 mile run. My legs felt like they weighed 400 lbs and the AC was broken, so I didn’t last long. I finished up my workout with some basics: squats, dead lifts, bicep curls, shoulder presses, etc.
In between appointments I made a pit stop for lunch at Cafesano, a Mediterranean bistro. I had their portabello panini with lavash chips and it was the bomb!
After two more visits, I headed home! It was so great to see the fur babies and Riley. I am really looking forward to having some home-cooked meals for the next few days. I’m also really looking forward to driving my own car again. Such a change from my old car, when I’d just pray it would start after 11 days away. Ha!
Hope you guys have a great day!
