Happy Wednesday! I hope everyone’s week is going well so far. Mine has been jam-packed. I’m almost completely done booking my fall travel for work and I’m almost to the point of being excited about it. Almost.
Monday was eclipse day, which made things extra fun. Also extra fun was the fact that students are back on campus again!
I was running late to work, so I stopped at Panera for a Mediterranean egg white sandwich and some coffee for breakfast.
Honestly, I think my “Top 10 things I’m most thankful for” list includes Panera rapid pick-up. Life changing.
After some morning meetings, it was off to lunch! I went to BJ’s Brewhouse with a co-worker and ordered their cauliflower pita tacos. I’d been thinking about them since the last time and couldn’t wait to order them again.
After lunch, things got much less productive at the office. Since I had a pair of eclipse glasses, I shared with my co-workers so we could all take turns checking it out.
The sun only got about 88% covered where I live, so it didn’t get all dark and cool like in some other places. It did feel like a storm was about to roll in, though, for about 20 minutes, which was pretty neat.
After the excitement died down, I worked until 5, then headed home for the evening. When I got home, the lawn people had come and done our yard for us!
We don’t have certain equipment yet, like an edger, and I wanted the super straight lines along the sidewalk and driveway, so I had a company come out and take care of it. Riley thought the grass was still too tall, but I think it looks great. Since it was roughly 500 degrees outside, it was nice that neither of us had to do it this time. As much as I like to do things myself, I’m not above paying someone else on occasion!
Since Riley was home on Monday, he offered to cook dinner. My request was, “meatless Monday” so Riley made some amazing homemade mac and cheese.
Not the healthiest option, but super tasty. The addition of the sriracha made all the difference.
The rest of my evening was spent hanging out, jogging in place to get the remainder of my steps for the day, and reading before bed. Super exciting stuff.
Now it’s off to work again! I have a fairly calm day at work ahead, then a barre class this evening. Catch you guys on Friday!
Did you watch the eclipse?
Do you “outsource” your chores? We rarely do, but I’m seriously tempted to have cleaning people come to the house in-between my work travel season and the holidays. Totally worth skipping a trip to Target!
