Man, these summer weeks are flying by. I don’t mind that the weekend gets here so quickly, but it means my final week of a care-free summer are officially here. I’m still taking my Fridays off for the next few weeks, so I plan on making the most of it.
Now that the weekend is already here, it’s time to take a look back at this past week. Here’s what I’ve been loving these past few days. Feel free to share your favorites below!
Ok, this one only arrived yesterday, but I ordered this planner a couple days ago from Amazon and I’m super excited about it! I love that it’s not just a scheduler or to-do list. You can write out your goals, reflections, and other items for each day, week, or month.
I like to begin and end every work day by sitting down at a clean desk, writing out my goals for the next day, and tidying up before I leave the office. I think this planner will help me do that even better. Here’s to more focused work day!
*Side note- does anyone else get weirdly excited for this time of year when all the school supplies are out? I used to get so excited at the beginning of a school year. I’d go to Staples and pick out all my new supplies and just get really excited for my classes. Since I’m no longer a student, I get really excited instead to raid the supply cabinets at work. Nothing like a fresh notepad, am I right guys? Am I right? Yeah, I know I’m a nerd….
Ninja Coffee Bar
Ok, I know I told you all about this on Monday, but it had to make my favorites list because it’s truly amazing. I’ve been enjoying the “Cold Brew” option every day before work this week and it’s worth to price alone! It was on sale at Target when I bought it, but I know they sell it everywhere. I wouldn’t consider myself a coffee “addict.” I don’t really have that kind of personality and I sometimes go weeks without coffee just because I forget about it. I definitely see my coffee consumption increasing with this bad boy on my counter, though!
Why you should ban “cheat” days
Is it weird to make one of my own posts a “favorite?” Well, I was doing some random blog stuff the other day and came across this post I wrote over two years ago. It deals with my concerns about the mentality of “cheat” days.
As I read back through my words, I realized that those thoughts have never applied to my life more than they do right now. We all go through evolutions with our eating habits, our fitness, and our relationship to food. For example, I’m currently cutting out meat on a much more regular basis, which I would not have seen coming two years ago. I would say my relationship to food right now is the healthiest it’s ever been and I’m really happy about it. If you’re a longtime reader, you may have read the post before, but if you’re new to the blog I’d say it’s worth a read!
I’ve been hitting up barre classes more than usual lately and I’m loving it! I took a bit of a break earlier this summer, but I forgot how much I love going. Since I never work my upper body at the gym it’s basically the only time I get in an arm workout, not to mention I love the energy of the class. The teacher I usually take knows all her students by name and makes the classes really fun.
That’s not a super long list this week, but I’ll leave it at that. I’ve got mani/pedi scheduled for today, then later this evening Riley and I are meeting friends at Jamestown beach for a concert. It should be an awesome start to my long weekend.
Have a great weekend!
