Happy Monday! How was everyone’s weekend? Mine was pretty great, but I can’t believe it was the last weekend of July! Summer is going by way too fast for me.
We kicked off our weekend Thursday evening with a date night at Le Yaca, one of my favorite French restaurants in town.
Dinner was delicious, especially their French onion soup, which never gets old.
Friday, Riley and I went to the bank to finally merge our accounts. Yes, six years after marriage and we still had separate accounts. It actually worked for us for a long time, but since I manage all our finances I was getting sick of logging into multiple places to get things done. Of course, after our money was all in the same place we had to go spend some of it, so we celebrated with a Target run. And this happened.
Yeah, it was a bit of a splurge. But you guys, it makes iced coffee and lattes, it has a frother, and all kinds of other fancy stuff!
I’ve only made a couple regular pots with it so far, but I’m already obsessed. I love that you can froth up some milk to go in your cup to make it extra fancy.
The rest of Friday was spent hanging out, followed by a nice long hot yoga class. When I came out of class, it was finally raining! We’ve been waiting for it to rain for weeks, so it was a very welcome sight!
Saturday morning started with a quick trip to the farmer’s market in-between rain showers.
I embraced the lazy rainy day pretty much all day. I also indulged in a little bubble bath action Saturday night and cracked the window to listen to the rain some more.
By Sunday morning, all the rain had cleared out and it was in the mid-60s. It was so freaking gorgeous! I was up by 7 AM, so I took Bella for a walk, then headed over to Colonial Williamsburg for a run.
It was so perfect and it almost felt like a fall morning. I don’t want to wish summer away, but those cooler temps were very welcome.
The rest of Sunday was spent outside pretty much all day. The pets and I lounged on the front porch all morning until it warmed up.
Then I hit the beach for a couple hours.
Then I read a book all afternoon out on our backyard swing.
Before I knew it, Riley was home and it was dinner time and Game Of Thrones time!
I was wide awake from about 2-4 AM for no good reason, so today should be interesting…..thank goodness I bought that fancy coffee machine to help keep me awake. Have a great Monday!
