What a great weekend! I hope you all enjoyed some down time this weekend. I went into the weekend feeling pretty stressed out, but I took some time in between all the chores to do some things just for me and it really paid off. I’m feeling much more put together going into this work week!
Friday was mostly spent cleaning. Our old townhouse needs to be spic and span by the end of the month if I want to get any of our deposit back. I was pretty wiped out by Friday evening, but Riley gave me a back massage and I took a bubble bath, so I ended the day on a good note.
Saturday started out with a walk around the neighborhood with Bella. She was pumped to check out the new area and get out of the house! I also hit up the farmer’s market, which was super busy and filled with all kinds of gorgeous veggies.
I came away with some pretty purple carrots, potatoes, ground beef, and salad mix.
After the farmer’s market, I knew I still had several hours of chores to do, but the beach was calling to me! I put off my work for a little bit to go soak in a couple hours of sunshine.
Ahh my favorite thing! It was so perfect to just lay out and relax for a little while. I got straight to work afterwards, which meant I was a disgusting mess by the time I was done. Luckily, I was able to take a super long shower and get all pretty for date night.
Riley and I hit up Hound’s Tale for some drinks and appetizers.
They had a BLT flatbread that was out of this world! We also enjoyed a couple other appetizers to share.
We were so full and happy afterwards and I went to bed super early for a Saturday night. No shame!
Sunday morning was spent doing, you guessed it, more cleaning. I swear, if I don’t get any deposit money back after cleaning behind that refrigerator I will be so mad. After finishing up, I headed up to Richmond to see my family for Father’s Day.
I only took one photo while I was there, but it was great to catch up with everyone and see my dad!
Now I’m ready to start the work week. It’s the first day of freshman orientation, so I’m up super early to help out. Campus will be a little livelier these next couple weeks!
Have a great Monday!
What was the highlight of your weekend?
What’s your go-to when you just need to relax? Mine is definitely the beach. Also on my list are bubble baths, reading, and spending time outside.
