Happy Friday!! Are you guys excited for the weekend? I don’t really have any set plans, but I’ll probably be spending most of it going through all our stuff and starting the packing process. We close on the house in less than two weeks, so there’s a lot to be done in the meantime. If the sun comes out long enough I might get in some beach time too.
This week has been pretty slow, to be honest, but I’m not complaining. We’ve officially hit that point at work where the phone doesn’t ring for hours on end. It’s my favorite time of year.
In the spirit of the weekend, let’s take a look back at all my favorite things from this past week, shall we? Feel free to share your favorites in the comments!
One of my favorite parts about this time of year is how early the sun is out. It’s not a secret that I love mornings, so being able to enjoy a little sun before work is just the best thing ever. After a little living room workout yesterday, I squeezed in a quick run through the neighborhood before heading to the office and it was so perfect watching the sun rise.
The Lost City of Z: A Tale of Deadly Obsession in the Amazon
I started reading this book last week and I’m loving it so far! It’s about explorers who went on expeditions to the Amazon and disappeared and how other explorers have been obsessed with it over the years. It’s a true story and there’s apparently a movie out about it too.
Meet my latest breakfast obsession. If it’s not avocado toast, it’s peanut butter toast. I’ve eaten some kind of toast every day this week and I’m in love. I also just found this awesome post about different breakfast toast ideas and I think I’ll try some of them this weekend. I think the caprese avocado toast idea is my favorite!
Y’all thought I was crazy planting a garden two months before moving, but looky there! A tomato. If I’d waited until mid-June to plant those, would I have that tomato right now? No, I wouldn’t. I will savor that tomato. I will sprinkle sea salt on it and eat it with a fork and knife and congratulate myself for being so proactive this spring.
The return of a legend
I opened my email from World Market yesterday to discover that they are now carrying Clearly Canadian sparkling water in their stores. Do you guys remember that stuff?!!? It was huge in the 90s and I remember drinking it as a kid. I thought it was gone forever, but now they have it in stores at World Market. I will be making a visit this weekend for sure.
TJs Cauliflower pizza crust
The moment I’ve been waiting for. I’ve always been curious about cauliflower pizza crust, but I’ve never made it because….well, if you’ve read my blog for more than 5 minutes, you know why I haven’t made it from scratch. I kept telling myself that eventually Trader Joe’s will just make it for me and guess what? I was right! They now sell it in the freezer section at TJs and I have been plans to get some this weekend.
I’ll report back and let you know what I think, but in the meantime Popsugar already gave it a review.
On that note, I’m now hungry and ready to get the weekend started. Have an awesome weekend!
(P.S. If you missed part #1 of our Paris trip, get caught up here because part #2 is coming next week!)
