Ahhh, it feels good to be home! Our trip to Paris was incredible and I can’t wait to share it with you all. I’ve got about a million pictures to go through first, but I promise there will be recaps soon. We definitely missed the pets and they were beyond thrilled when we got home.
Bella followed us around for hours with a giant grin on her face and Coco has spent every second she can laying next to me like a person. It’s super weird, but also really cute.
We got back home Thursday night and had Friday to recover. After a quick trip to the gym, we managed to fit in a final date into our day off in between laundry and grocery shopping. We went to lunch and to see Guardians of the Galaxy 2.
It was nice to eat a really good salad. No offense, France, but your salads are super uncreative. I thought the movie was a lot of fun! We liked the first one a lot, too. It was nice to squeeze in just a liiiiittle bit more time with Riley before reality set back in.
Saturday morning I was up super early to head to campus for commencement! I’m normally on vacation and can’t help out, but I rallied and did my part to do some crowd control for the graduation ceremony.
Being part of this year’s ceremony reminded me that it’s been ten years since I walked across that stage! How has time gone so quickly?? I’m so lucky that I was able to join such a great community and even though all I wanted to do was nap, I’m glad I got to see my CNU family. Needless to say, I spent the rest of the day on my couch, catching up on all the TV shows I missed.
Sunday started with a long walk with Bella, followed by a run through my neighborhood. I think my legs are still recovering from all the walking we did on our trip because I felt super sluggish. I powered through, though, so hopefully I’ll be back to normal soon. After my run, I headed up to Richmond to see my family for Mother’s Day. We all met up at a new Mellow Mushroom for lunch.
It was great to catch up with my family and celebrate my momma! I haven’t been super jet lagged, but I have felt an overwhelming need to take like a two hour nap every afternoon. Maybe that’s the jet lag, now that I think about it….Let’s hope I shake that soon, considering I go back to work today!
Now it’s back to reality. I always have a ton of vacation time by this point in the year, so I’ll be taking every Friday off between now and the end of August, so I can’t really complain! I’m excited to see all my work friends and get caught up. I’ve informed my boss that I’ve now become accustomed to 2 hours lunches that include wine. We’ll see if it catches on.
Have a great Monday!
