It’s heeeeeere! May 1st in the admission world is also known as National Decision Day. It’s the last day for high school seniors to decide where they’re going to college. To make the hard choice between going to the college with their major and going to the one with air conditioning in the dorms. The fact that we pretend to predict the outcome of these decisions is laughable.
Today’s the day when admission officers everywhere find out if tomorrow’s beverage will be a mimosa or 6 more cups of coffee. We started our year like this:
And we end it feeling like this:
After a long….long year, that day has finally arrived. I’m feeling positive about where we stand, but to all my admission friends out there, good luck to you. To say we all need of a vacation is an understatement!
Since I don’t know what today will hold, let’s back up to the weekend, shall we? We had summer weather pretty much all weekend, so Saturday morning started with a trip to my favorite beach for a few hours.
The rest of Saturday was spent napping, shopping, and getting some errands done.
I started my day Sunday by taking Bella for a walk. I also noticed the random and super splotchy sunburns I got on Saturday. Total sunscreen fail…
After my walk, Riley and I went out for breakfast before he headed to work for the day.
With opposite days off, we try to squeeze in mini dates wherever we can! I spent the rest of Sunday morning doing some more shopping for our upcoming trip. I also spent a little time outside with the pets, checking on my plants and letting them sunbathe.
My little garden is coming along quite nicely! Even though Riley gave me crap for planting things two months before moving, I have no regrets.
Sunday afternoon included a pretty epic nap with my favorite snuggler.
I can rarely nap for more than 45 minutes, but I crashed for a solid 2 1/2 hours! It was pretty glorious and I’m sure it’s helping me kick the last of this cold.
And that was my weekend! Nothing super exciting, but sometimes it’s necessary to just chill out and rest.
Now it’s off to work for the day! I’ve got a lot to tie up before we leave on Wednesday. Have a great Monday!
What were you up to this weekend?
Do you nap on the weekends?
