Happy Friday!! So, funny story… I definitely thought when I got to work on Wednesday that I’d written a blog post, but apparently I forgot all about it. I’ve had the days really mixed up this week. Sorry I missed you!
C’est la vie, right? All that matters now is that the weekend is here! My friend Megan is coming down to visit and I’m super pumped to hang out with her. Both of us have vacations coming up, so we’ve decided to keep things healthy. Looks like our typical dinners of cheese, bread, and wine might not be happening.
Since it’s Friday, let’s chat about the best parts of the past week, shall we? Feel free to share your favorite things from the week in the comments!
Jergens Wet Skin Glow Moisturizer
I’m always intrigued by a beauty product that promises to save me time, so when I saw the Jergens wet skin tanning moisturizer at Target I had to pick it up. If you’ve ever tried those in-shower lotions, this is basically just like it, but with self tanner.
The first time I made the mistake of buying the fair to medium color, which basically did nothing. Once I tried the medium to tan, however, I started to notice a difference within 4 days. Now I use this stuff a few days a week after my shower and it’s given me just enough color to go out with bare legs without blinding people. I don’t know how it works, especially without getting color on my white towels, but it does. It literally takes 30 seconds once I turn off the water and then I just immediately dry off. I’m not very precise in putting it on, so I notice a couple places that are darker than others. It’s probably because I put it on so quickly, but otherwise It’s totally worth the money!
Legally Blonde SNL Skit
As someone who grew up doing theater, I know exactly how it feels to think you’re putting on something AMAZING and taking it way too seriously. When I saw this skit from SNL I thought I was going to pee myself!
I’ve watched it 3 times and I can’t stop giggling. “Can middle school productions win Tonys?” Hahaha.
World Market Furniture
We don’t need a lot of furniture for our new house, but we will definitely need a bar area. We don’t have a lot of space for one, but I still want a cute area to display our pretty glasses, store our wine, and serve drinks if we have people over. Just typing that made me realize I can’t remember the last time we “had people over,” but when you buy a new house you can’t help but imagine all the parties you’ll never host there.
Anyway, I’m in love with this farmhouse-style bar from World Market. It’s the perfect size and would look super cute! Now I just need for it to go on sale…
I don’t know if you have an Aldi grocery store near you, but if you do you should really check it out! Ours opened months ago and I wasn’t thrilled after my first visit. Maybe it was just too crowded since it was new, but I decided to give it another try on Tuesday and now I’m hooked!
The prices are amazing, you guys. I only spent about $65 and got 5 bottles of wine, filets, pork chops, chicken, flatbread pizza, pistachios, and a whole bunch of other stuff. A couple things I’d recommend buying at Aldi based on my experience there:
- Wine- their winking owl brand is only $2.89 and is surprisingly drinkable! I also got a bottle of their Outlander wine, which reminded me a lot of the Bogle wines I’ve had.
- Nuts- I bought a big bag of roasted pistachios for around $3.50. Way cheaper than anywhere else I’ve seen!
- Eggs- $.89 for a dozen
- Produce- think $.59 for a pint of mushrooms, $2.50 for a whole spaghetti squash
It’s officially my new favorite place. Move over Trader Joe’s! Just kidding, I could never give up on my TJs.
’90s Hip Hop
I was listening to super random playlists at the gym the other day, when this old gem came on. As soon as I heard the song start I got a second wind. I started to run faster and really got into it! I basically looked just like this:
Luckily, my fellow early gym-goers are used to seeing my mouth the words to songs and rock out, so I had no shame. Daddy Mac’ll make ya—–JUMP JUMP!
In case you now have the song in your head, or if you’re too young to remember it <gasp!>, here you go. You’re welcome.
Now that we all have that song stuck in our heads, I think it’s a good time to sign off. Time to get this party started, friends. Have a great weekend!
