Good morning, friends, and Happy Valentine’s Day! Riley brought me these yesterday and they’re brightening up my dining room table today.
I missed you guys yesterday. I spent the entire day waiting for our sofa to arrive and it never did. My level of rage was about an 8 and I was even more annoyed that I’d gotten ready for work, thinking I’d be able to head in after the delivery. Riley called and complained big time and used his superior negotiating skills. They gave us back $150 off the price of the sofa and will now be delivering it tomorrow…..hopefully.
How was everyone’s weekend? Mine was short, thanks to work, but the weather was aaaahhhmazing. I took Bella out for a walk on Saturday after cleaning the house and it was like we’d suddenly fast-forwarded to May.
Sunday morning involved a great barre class, then I finally bit the bullet and upgrade to the iphone 7 plus. I spent the rest of the day relaxing outside and making my pets model for me. They took their jobs pretty seriously and put on their best “look off into the distance as if you’re pondering the meaning of life” faces for me while I tested out the 7 plus camera.
I’m in love! The larger size will take some getting used to, but I’m sure I’ll adapt soon.
In addition to being outside, I did a teensy bit of meal prep by making some baked egg cups for breakfasts this week.
And now it’s time to celebrate one of my favorite holidays of the year! I seriously love Valentine’s Day. The hearts, the chocolate, the excuse to eat fancy food and give everyone hugs. It’s the best. But most of all, I get to share it with my favorite person, Riley.
This is our 10th Valentine’s Day together and I think I fall more in love with him each year. I seriously can’t believe how much the time has flown! I met him when I was 21 years old and I turn 32 on Friday, so I’d say we’ve both grown up a lot in that time.
There’s little I can say on here about Riley that I haven’t already said before. A few years ago, I wrote about our story and how we met. I’ve also shared my favorite things about Riley and why I think he’s amazing.
We have dinner reservations for my birthday on Friday, so we’ll be celebrating Valentine’s with a romantic dinner at home this evening. I can’t wait to pour a glass of wine, enjoy some good food, and just enjoy Riley’s company.
However you plan to spend today, whether it’s with a sweetheart, your friends, your pets, or your family, take advantage of the chance to share your love with those closest to you. Happy Valentine’s Day!
