This week went by pretty quickly, actually. I think taking Tuesday off broke up the work week a little bit, but I’m definitely ready for two days off. I don’t have anything that has to get done, so I plan on spending my weekend sleeping in, working out, getting my nails done, and watching the Super Bowl. It will be a very chill weekend! Maybe I’ll get super lucky and Riley will make me pancakes again.
Today will fly by since we have an event on campus for high school counselors. It’s one of my favorite events of the year, even though most of my counselors never make the drive down here from Northern VA. Still, there’s free lunch and I’m easy to please. After work, Riley and I will be going to take a second look at the townhouse I liked this weekend. After that…..well, I’ve got some House Hunters on the DVR and a bottle of sparkling rosé in the fridge, so that’ll be my wild Friday night.
Time to get on to the fun stuff today, don’t you think? Today’s Friday Favorites post is a bit random, but it’s a little peek into what’s been going on in my world, so enjoy!
Barry White Jr.
I saw this story and video yesterday and it made me so happy. This 5th grade teacher has a special handshake with every kid in his class and that’s how they start every school day.
Mini Bell Pepper Loaded Turkey “Nachos”
I saw this recipe over at Skinnytaste earlier this week and it looked amazing. Definitely a healthier option for Super Bowl food! I may try and get the ingredients tomorrow so I can make these.
Yes, it’s nerdy, but I get really excited when I hit all of my Fitbit goals for the day. I usually end up hitting some, but not all, so when the flashy green lights up the screen I do a little victory dance.
I hadn’t been to a hot vinyasa class in ages and I’m so glad I went Wednesday evening! My muscles were definitely feeling it the next day after all those chaturangas, but the feeling after class was amazing. I like regular hot yoga classes, but the challenge of the flow style is so much better when I’m in the mood for a real workout.
After our trip to Le Yaca last week, I’ve been on the hunt for whatever delicious glass of sparkling wine I had. I thought at first it might’ve been a rosé, so I picked up this bottle of Albrecht Crémant at Total Wine after calling the restaurant and trying to track it down. It ended up not being the right one, but I think just buying it created a monster. I’m all about the sparkling rosé now, which is odd because I don’t like normal rosé. Luckily, as I mentioned earlier, I bought a backup bottle that’s been chilling in my fridge all week.
On that festive note, I’ll wrap things up by saying cheers to the weekend. Have a good one and I’ll catch you all later!
What’s on your weekend agenda?
Will you be watching the Super Bowl? What’s your favorite part- food, commercials, or the half-time show? (I guess you could throw “watching the game” in there too….)
What’s one that that’s made you smile this week?
