Gooood morning, friends! We’re halfway through the work week and I’m already losing track of the days. I missed you all on Monday, but I doubt you would’ve enjoyed reading my weekend recap. The only thing I did besides bleach the house and grocery shop was watch TV and nap. I didn’t take a single picture, so you’ll just have to imagine all that gloriousness with your imagination.
I did, however, document my whole day on Monday for you guys to make up for it. I love reading day-in-the-life posts from other bloggers, so I thought for What I Ate Wednesday I’d extend the stalking to the entire day. Enjoy!
4:45 AM: Alarm goes off, but I’m super tired. I decide to skip the gym, switch the alarm to 6:15 instead, and go back to sleep.
5:15 AM: I wake up again…. Decide laying here for the next hour will make me more tired than just getting up, so I roll out of bed and throw my gym clothes on.
5:30 AM: Arrive at the gym and realize I only have about 35 minutes. Better than nothing though, right? I hop on a treadmill and run for as long as I can before time’s up.
Don’t I look so hot? Ha!
6:15 AM: Back at home, I set up stuff to make breakfast real fast, hop in the shower, and start getting ready for work.
Captain is there to “help” me get ready- meaning, lay in the sink, play with my makeup brushes, and demand attention.
6:50 AM: Breakfast!
I have two scrambled eggs with cheese and salsa, whole grain PB toast, grapefruit, and green juice. This is the only wholesome meal I will eat all day.
7:10 AM: Morning commute time! I listen to my French learning podcast while I drive and learn how to greet people in French. Je m’appelle Kelly, et toi?
7:50 AM: Arrive at work and get the day started. My entire morning is spent making scholarship decisions, drinking coffee, and eating pistachios.
12:00 PM: I go to heat up my lunch, but there’s a wait for the microwave. I get distracted talking to families in the lobby, returning phone calls, and checking emails.
1:08 PM: Shit, I missed my whole lunch break and now I have a meeting in 20 minutes. Quickly heat up my lunch and eat it at my desk while checking numbers.
1:30 PM: Meeting with the office leadership team. We share what’s happening in our specific areas and lament the fact that we can’t accurately predict exactly what 17 year-olds will decide to do. My boss tells us he’s “so depressed, ” but he’s laughing when he says it so who knows what’s happening.
2:30 PM: Run to the bathroom after our meeting. It’s a miracle if I can make it through a meeting without having to pee. I’m pretty sure my La Croix obsession is single-handedly keeping that ladies room in business. Overheard in the restroom while washing my hands:
Teenage girl #1: Well, did he apply?
Teenage girl #2: Yeah, and he thinks the fact that he’s 25% Native American is going to get him in. I was like, ‘um, 25% isn’t even that much’ hahaha
Me (in my head): Literally no admission office in the world cares exactly what percentage anything you are. Where are they getting this info?!
2:35 PM: Back to my desk for more decisions after making a pit stop in a co-worker’s office to steal some chocolate espresso beans.
5:00 PM: Time to head home! By the time I get to my exit I’m craving a gin and tonic, so I call Riley up and see if he wants to meet me for happy hour. Luckily, he’s walking out of his office at the exact time I call.
5:45 PM: Meet up with Riley for a drink (OK, 2). We chat about our days and catch up with each other
7:00 PM: Back at home, I throw on my comfies and curl up in my recliner to watch some TV. Riley asks if I want dinner and I say I’m not hungry.
Riley doesn’t believe me and insists on making me a grilled cheese sandwich to go with the chips I’m eating. He takes such good care of me, that one. I think I’ll keep him.
8:30 PM: I make myself some tea and crawl into bed to read.
10:00 PM: Super tired, but impressed I lasted this long. Lights out!
