It’s Black Fridaaaaaay! I have a game plan that I’ve perfected over the years, allowing me to shop, hit the outlet mall, and get at least 50% of Christmas presents purchased before 11 AM, when I retreat from the crazies and eat leftovers for the rest of the day. Today is also the day that I can officially start celebrating the Christmas season!
So many great things are happening this week, so I’m linking up with Heather to share my favorite things from the past few days, plus things I’m looking forward to. Enjoy!
Yesterday was super relaxing! We started off the day with coffee by the fire and I enjoyed my yearly tradition of watching the parades. I also enjoyed some croissants and “holiday fruit spread” (whatever that means) from Trader Joe’s.
After the parade ended, I met up with my friend Tara for a pre-turkey walk through Colonial Williamsburg.
In the 9+ years I’ve lived here, I’ve never been to CW on Thanksgiving day. Turns out, the place is totally packed on Thanksgiving! There were tourists EVERYWHERE, wandering the streets, taking horse & carriage rides, sipping on hot holiday drinks, and stopping us every 5 seconds to pet my friend’s dog.
After we got some exercise, Riley and I headed to his dad’s house for Thanksgiving dinner.
I can’t really make it past one plate and was pretty much stuffed all night as a result. I did manage a slice of pumpkin pie a few hours later.
Gilmore Girls Revival
I’m so excited to binge-watch this show on Netflix. It’s technically on my Google calendar for tomorrow, but I may start watching today. If anyone’s already started, don’t tell me anything about it!
I get a lot of my magazines on my Kindle these days and there are a ton of $5 subscriptions out there. Recently, I started noticing that there were free issues for Prime members, which has been pretty awesome. Considering that magazines are now $5+ in stores, I’ve got a ton of awesome holiday issues of my favorite magazines for free right now.
I’m keeping today’s post short and sweet because I’ve got a lot to get done today. All that money won’t spend itself! Have a great weekend!
