Hey friends, Happy Monday! Did you all have a good weekend? Mine was short, due to work, but I’ve got 5 whole days this week for Thanksgiving break. I seriously cannot wait!
I took very few pictures of my weekend. It was mostly spent cooking, relaxing with Riley, cleaning, and grocery shopping. Thanks to my latest order from Relay Foods, we had a ton of good local food, so I spent a lot of time in the kitchen. We didn’t do anything wild and crazy, but when you’ve got limited time sometimes you just want to take it easy.
I also spent a lot of time with Bella. Despite super warm temps on Saturday, a huge cold front came through on Sunday and Bella begged me to take her for a walk. She can’t actually say the words “please take me for a walk,” but she has perfected the art of putting her chin in my lap and whining, then running towards the door, so I indulged her and took her out for a super long walk in the cold.
Speaking of walking, it’s about the only exercise I’ve done around here since last weekend.
The first few days back from NYC I was mostly just tired, but then I pulled something in my back and it was hurting like crazy. After a massage from Riley and lots of “wall massages” (you know, where you can’t massage your own back so you find the corner of a wall and rub the knot on it) and rest, I can finally turn my head to the left without it hurting. And getting out of chairs is a lot easier.
The first few days of not working out were akin to torture. I get super antsy if I go more than two days without a workout, but I think in this case it’s good that I took a break. A week away from the gym really isn’t the end of the world! I think part of me also knew that I’d have time off coming up, which means I don’t have to worry about when I’ll fit in a workout. I haven’t been to a barre or hot yoga class in a few weeks, so I think I’ll focus on that and running this week to get back in the swing of things.
Keeping things short today since there’s a lot to get done before we break for Thanksgiving. Have a great Monday!
