Hey there, friends, how’s it going? We’re halfway through the work week, but the days are blurring together a bit for me. I’m still up in Northern VA all week visiting high schools and things are going well so far. It’s just been me and my rental car, my name tag, and the cool breeze of the air conditioner in my face.
Yes, you read that right. The AC has been on max because it’s currently in the high 80s here. WTF, October?! I packed for fall weather and instead I’m sweating because it has reverted back to summer weather. Nothing to do but shop for more clothes, I suppose….#desperatetimes.
Since it’s Wednesday, I thought I’d take you through my day on Monday and share What I Ate. Enjoy and try not to be too jealous.
Breakfast was a tasty feast of eggs with cheese and salsa, toast with butter, fruit, OJ, and coffee. The concierge lounge at my Marriott had a huge coffee station with Starbucks coffee and different syrups to flavor things with. I had my coffee with a pump of sugar-free vanilla before hitting the road. It was way too sweet.
I didn’t have a lot of time between appointments, so I swung into a Jersey Mike’s sub restaurant and ordered a turkey and provolone sub with chips. I ate it in my car at a local park while listening to true crime podcasts.
I followed up lunch with some chocolate from a goody bag I got at one of the schools.
The rest of the chocolates melted in the hot car…..I currently have them in the fridge at my hotel in the hopes they’ll solidify back into the form of something edible.
From one Marriott to another! My second hotel was serving make-your-own chicken burritos. I piled mine with salsa, guacamole, cheese, and cilantro. It was delicious and I washed it down with a free beer.
Overall, I’d call the day a success. It was seriously lacking in veggies, but I managed to keep my energy up all day while talking to high schoolers, which is mostly all that matters right now.
I’ll catch you guys on Friday!
What’s the best thing you ate yesterday?
What’s your favorite kind of sub?
