Hey there, how’s it going? I’m in Charlotte, NC right now, coughing and hacking my way through my work trip.
That picture totally sums up how I feel about this cold…It’s whatever, nothing I can do about it, so I’m just trying my best not to come off like a total germ factory at my visits. It is super annoying, though.
I’ve spent a lot of my down time laying in bed and resting so I don’t make this thing worse, but the week hasn’t been a total wash. I managed to spend some time at Freedom Park, one of my favorite spots in Charlotte.
I thought at one point that I’d try and come to run, but when the 10 minute walk around the pond exhausted me, I decided against it.
Anyway, I’m here for a couple more days, then headed back to VA just in time for Hurricane Matthew. Hopefully it won’t be bad, but the forecast just keeps shifting it to head straight for us, so we’ll see! Since it’s Wednesday, I don’t want to miss out on one of my favorite weekly traditions of sharing my meals with you for What I Ate Wednesday. Here’s what I had yesterday!
This is one of the saddest looking breakfasts I’ve had in a while. I felt like crap when I woke up and didn’t really want to eat anything, but I knew I needed to. My hotel had the usual eggs/salsa/cheese and I had some fruit and OJ to go with it. I also skipped my coffee in favor of some hot tea. Laaaaaame.
Whenever I don’t feel good, Riley makes me grilled cheese and soup, but he wasn’t here to make it for me (Rileeeey, I miss you!), so I had Panera do it instead. The little croutons on the tomato soup were perfect.
Too lazy to find a restaurant, I decided to see what my hotel was cooking up for dinner. They had grilled some bratwurst and were serving it with salad and some other stuff.
I also broke out the bottle of wine in my snack bag and had a glass.
Look at me holding my wine glass over those crisp white sheets. I like to live dangerously.
Soo that’s what I ate. The best part was definitely my lunch. Here’s hoping it cures me. I’ll catch you guys on Friday for my favorites from the week and my very first Stitch Fix review!
