Hey friends, happy Monday! First of all, thank you all so much for your love and support for my post on Friday. You guys are amazing.
How was everyone’s weekend? Mine felt pretty short since I had to work on Saturday, but I still made the most of it. Saturday night, Riley and I decided to make the long trek across the street to Oceans & Ale for a date night. They were celebrating O&A Day, which is a yearly celebration that is always a huge blast.
There were several local breweries there and they had live music all night. We somehow managed to snag seats at the bar with a perfect view of the stage and ended up having the best time. With all these new breweries coming to our area, I’m trying to learn a little more about beer and what I like. I am a total amateur, but I have discovered I like beers with citrus flavors, so it’s a start.
The main band was the Deloreans, an 80s band that was so good! I’d heard about them before, but this was my first time seeing them live. They played hit after hit and each performer took turns as the main vocalist, which I thought was pretty awesome. The place was completely packed and the band had everyone dancing. We left after the first set since Riley had to work the next day, but I will definitely look out for their next show near us.
Sunday was a lot quieter for me. Riley worked all day long, so I spent my day hanging out at home, reading on the back deck, and spending a lot of time in the kitchen.
I prepped an egg bake for breakfasts, made brownies, and lunches.
For my lunches, I prepped a lemon dill tuna salad, which I’m pretty excited about.I have a bazillion herbs out back, so I’m trying to come up with creative ways to use them.
And before you ask for the brownie recipe, I do not have one. I made them from a Pillsbury box…..BUT I used their new Purely Simple mix, which has no artificial ingredients or preservatives. I was pretty impressed with the very basic ingredient list and the brownies turned out delicious.
For dinner, I made a tortellini alfredo dish with chicken sausage and broccoli. It hit the spot and since I cooked enough to feed a family of six, I’ll have plenty of leftovers.
That just about covers the weekend stuff! I don’t have a set workout plan for the week today. My yoga & barre studio came out with a new summer schedule, so I’ll be figuring things out as I go along.
Have a good one!
What was the highlight of your weekend?
Do you drink beer? Do you know anything about it? I feel like I’m listening to a foreign language when people talk about beers, but I feel like a fraud just ordering a Michelob Ultra when there are all these local breweries around. Some day I’ll learn what it means to say a beer tastes “hoppy.”
