How was everyone’s weekend? I had a great one, thanks to Riley being off work. We spent a quiet weekend at home and just enjoyed some quality time together. It takes very little to make me happy, but it’s the little things that are truly amazing. Aside from just having him home, I didn’t have to drive my car once, I got lots of snuggles in with the pets, and I drank copious amounts of freshly ground coffee.
Saturday morning was super chilly, but I wrapped myself in a blanket and sat outside with my coffee and kindle anyway.
Bella glued herself to my side…That sweet little face kills me.
Once Riley got up, we hit the farmer’s market for some goodies.
Then we went to Honey Butters, aka the best breakfast diner food ever. I had a garden omelet with home fries and toast.
We also went grocery shopping. I picked up some hydrangeas at Trader Joe’s and they’ve definitely perked up my dining room table!
We took some naps Saturday afternoon, then I ventured out for a 3 mile run and a circuit in the living room. I celebrated my workout with green juice. I’m pretty sure you’re supposed to drink juices before your workout to give you energy, but I’m usually craving it afterwards.
For dinner, Riley whipped up a grill chicken salad made with greens from the farmer’s market.
Then, because we hadn’t done enough that day, we went out to meet some friends for drinks and a band.
Sunday we did a total 180 and basically did…..well, nothing. We didn’t have any Easter plans with family since everyone was kind of scattered this year. Instead, we made breakfast casserole and parked it on the couch for the rest of the day. It was cold and drizzly outside, so Netflix was my friend. Aside from a quick energy burst to clean the house (I can’t start a Monday with a messy house!), I was a couch potato and loved it.
This week is another busy one, but I don’t really mind so much. The sunshine is back and the temps are warming back up, so I’m hoping for a couple evening runs through the neighborhood after work.
Have a great Tuesday!
