Hey friends, what’s going on? The week is in full swing, but I’m on a super productive roll, so let’s just keep it on going! Today we’re talking about seafood and I’m drooling just typing this post. Last week, Riley and I got the opportunity to visit our local Bonefish Grill to check out their winter menu and updated decor. I hadn’t been in a few months, but I’ve always loved their food, so I was really excited to get out of the house and have a delicious dinner.
We had reservations for a Wednesday, which I quickly realized was a super busy day for Bonefish since on Wednesdays all orders of their famous Bang Bang shrimp are only $6.
While we waited for our table, we each grabbed a quick drink at the bar. I immediately swooned over their grapefruit martini, which is part of their winter menu.
It was perfect since my grapefruit obsession is still in full swing. Give me alllllll the grapefruit!!
Once we were seated, I perused the menu while enjoying their bread and olive oil. I judge a restaurant in two ways: 1) Their french fries; 2) Their bread basket. I am fairly harsh with my fry/bread judgement standards. Bonefish definitely passes the bread basket test, thanks to the delicious oil dipping sauce. Sadly, I didn’t get to sample their fries.
We ordered a bottle of wine, then ordered our meals, mostly based on their specials.
We shared an order of bang bang shrimp (obviously), but the real star of the show was their lobster stuffed shrimp appetizer. Oh….My God. I could’ve just had that and been in heaven. Something about their lemon butter caper sauce is just pure magic. It’s the same sauce they use on my all-time favorite Bonefish meal, the Imperial Tilapia. They should really bottle that and sell it, cause I’d buy it.
Finally, our entrees came. I ordered the mahi mahi with a side of spinach and truffle mac and cheese. I know, lean fish and spinach, with a side of butter/fat/cheese. #Balance.
Both were amazing and Riley helped me with the mac and cheese. He ordered a burger, which looked delicious, but I forgot to snap a pic.
My two favorites from the night were the grapefruit martini and the lobster appetizer. I’d go back this week just for those two things, then call it a night. Thank you, Bonefish, for a great dinner!
