I wanted to pop in quickly to wish those who celebrate a Merry Christmas! After some festivities in Richmond with my family yesterday (I’ll share later!), we’re spending a quiet morning at home, just the two of us. Coffee, breakfast, opening our stockings, and giving the pets their presents from “Santa.” There’s nothing that brings me more joy and peace than those quiet times I get to spend at home with Riley.
Speaking of which, today is Riley’s birthday. It often goes overlooked since most people are preoccupied with the holidays, but I want to make sure I make a big, public splash about him, since he is my favorite person in the world.
During this holiday season, I’ve caught up with a lot of people I hadn’t seen in a while. Of course, when you see people you haven’t seen, their first question is, “So what’s new and exciting with you?” And I don’t always have a great answer for them. I heard a quote the other day, though, and made me realize that’s not such a bad thing.
I love that quote because it speaks to my life right now. Nothing “exciting” is really going on, but I’m most definitely at peace and happy. Riley is one of the biggest reasons for that.
Riley is sincere, funny, and an all-around good guy. He keeps me grounded, but never tries to stop me when I want to dream big.
Happy Birthday, Babe. You make me feel loved, safe, and happy every single day and I couldn’t imagine life without you!
