Happy Monday, and happy November as well! October went by way too fast, in my opinion. And now that Halloween is over, it’s time for Christmas Everything for the next two months. I’ll do my best to avoid Christmas stuff until Thanksgiving, but who knows…
Anyway, let’s catch up! I hope you all had a great weekend and Halloween. I had a good one in Williamsburg. The weather was great and Riley took Sunday off work so we could spend some time together.
Saturday morning started out with a run in Colonial Williamsburg.
It was a little chilly for my taste, but it was beautiful outside, so it wasn’t too bad. Plus, I loved checking out all the decorations. They had some kind of pirate Halloween event going on that night, so there were skeletons and other decorations all over town.
I made a pit stop at Aroma’s after my run and got a spiced chai latte. I know I’ve been raving about the Oprah chai at Starbucks lately, but, no lie, the one at Aroma’s blew it out of the water. So good. I’ve been daydreaming about it ever since.
After my run I got all the weekend errands done, including having our carpets steam cleaned. It felt great to get the house in order and check all the chores off my list. By the time I was finished, Riley got home from work and it was time to have some fun.
We went to Colonial Williamsburg to buy tickets to the William & Mary football game (Riley went to school there), then headed to a local bar and got a pitcher of cider to share and a couple slices of pizza.
Then it was game time! They were playing another VA school (JMU), so it was a pretty exciting game.
Once the sun went down, we were freezing, but the game was so close and super exciting. W&M took the lead with 41 seconds to go and won the game, so we’re glad we stuck it out! The trick-or-treating had ended by the time we got home, so we just relaxed in our PJs. Our neighborhood isn’t really busy on Halloween, so I didn’t feel like I’d missed much.
Sunday morning started out pretty perfectly. First, we got to sleep in a bit, thanks to daylight savings. After we got up, Riley put on coffee and I snuggled by the fire with Coco and my Kindle while he made brunch.
It’s rare that I get a Chef Riley brunch these days with his work schedule, so I made sure to savor every bite!
I spent the rest of Sunday being a bum. I napped for two hours, did some blog stuff, and read. It was exactly how I wanted to spend the weekend and now I’m feeling great going into the work week!
What was the highlight of your weekend?
