I’m weirdly excited today. I’m excited because today marks the beginning of my eighth travel season working in admission. While I don’t travel as much as I used to, I have three big trips and a few overnight trips this fall to recruit the newest class of freshmen. I’m so ready to hop in my rental and hit the open road!
Before I go, though, I’ve got some packing and an early Hot Barre class to get myself moving before I sit in a car for five hours! I’m headed to Charlotte, NC today so I know it’ll be a long drive.
My weekend was low-key, but still a lot of fun. A cold front moved in and the weather actually felt like fall. Saturday was pouring rain when I woke up, so I read on my kindle and sipped coffee until it let up.
Once the coast was clear, Riley and I returned to our new favorite breakfast spot. I ordered the basil omelet with rye toast.
We spent the rest of the day running errands and just hanging out. Saturday night, we had Riley’s famous homemade pizza, which was fantastic.
Sunday was the first football Sunday of the year, so it was basically a holiday. We spent the morning cleaning and getting the house together so we could relax and enjoy the day later on. I also embraced the cooler temps and took Bella for a walk, then headed out for a quick run. It felt so good to not be panting in 90 degree weather. Bring on the fall running!
The rest of the afternoon was spent watching football. I watched the Redskins lose and made football snacks like guacamole and pigs in a blanket (Riley’s requests).
And now we’re back to Monday!
I’ve got a lot to do before hitting the road later this morning, so I’ll wrap this up. Have a great start to your week!
What was the highlight of your weekend? For me, it was the 20 degree drop in temperature. It actually felt like fall and it was amazing. We spent the whole day Sunday with the windows and back door open. I know the cats loved being able to come and go as they pleased, and Riley and I enjoyed not playing doorman for them all day.
Does it feel like fall yet where you live?
