Hey everyone! I haven’t been able to catch up as much as I’d like due to limited computer time this week. I’ve been traveling around VA touring colleges with these crazy kids:
That’s me on the far left, in case you couldn’t tell.
Anyway, I have been snapping pics of my meals, which have been pretty good so far. I’ll be linking up with Jenn today for WIAW and I’m sharing yesterday’s meals, so enjoy!
After an early start Tuesday morning, I got in a good workout in the hotel gym before checking out the free breakfast. I was a little disappointed in the eggs, so I went for something I knew was safe. I toasted whole grain bread, topped it with peanut butter, grabbed a yogurt and some fruit.
After breakfast, it was off to my parent’s alma mater, Virginia Tech!
Lunch was grabbed on the run before our afternoon tour, so we headed to a Charlottesville favorite, Bodo’s Bagels. I ordered a whole grain bagel with roast beef, muenster cheese, sprouts, and mustard. They forgot my avocado, but it was really good anyway.
After a long walking tour, a two hour drive, and checking into our next hotel, we were all ready for a good meal! We headed out to the Cheesecake Factory for dinner as soon as we’d settled in.
I enjoyed a slice of bread with butter (their oat/grain bread is the bomb), two glasses of sauvignon blanc, and their Skinnylicious chopped salad.
Even for being on the “healthy” menu, the salad was HUGE and I only got about halfway through before getting full.
The day was super long and it felt great to throw on my comfy clothes at the end of the day. We’ve got two more days on the road before heading home, so here’s hoping I can keep my energy up.
Have a great Wednesday!
What’s the best thing you ate yesterday?
What are your favorite healthy options when you’re on the road? I usually rely on restaurants that post nutrition facts or have a dedicated “healthy” menu. I don’t often have time/energy/interest in pre-planning or packing a whole lot of food, so if I can scope out good options ahead of time I can find healthier options.
