Hey, friends! This week has been off to a great start and thanks to a mini work trip it’s been going by quickly. Monday afternoon, I headed up to northern VA to speak on a college panel. I imparted my wisdom on the college application process for a couple hours with two other college reps, then checked into my hotel around 9:00.
Once I checked in, I was surprised to see that I’d gotten a corner room with a jacuzzi! There was a note with some free chocolates to someone else who they referred to as a “platinum elite” customer, which I am not. The room was clearly meant for someone with a higher Marriott status than me, but it didn’t stop me from taking the chocolates.
I was too tired to use the tub, so I just did some work in bed before turning out the lights.
Tuesday morning, I woke up around 6:00 and got dressed before heading down to the hotel’s free breakfast. They had quite a spread at the buffet, but I went straight for my usual breakfast lately- scrambled eggs and toast. I topped my eggs with a bit of cheese and salsa and grabbed some strawberries as well.
It hit the spot and kept me nice and full for the drive back home.
Once in the office, I did some work before grabbing some chicken salad and a croissant for lunch at the campus coffee shop. They make homemade chicken salad that’s the best, complete with grapes in it. I know a lot of people don’t like much stuff in their chicken salad, but I love it.
Later on that afternoon, I was craving something sweet so I convinced a co-worker to split one of the Reese’s cookies with me. She got the bigger half, but it was probably for the best since I’m going on vacation in two weeks. It would probably be nice if I can fit into my swim suits.
For dinner, Riley made some leftover spinach-filled ravioli with chicken and cream sauce. It was spicy, creamy, and delicious! I enjoyed a glass of white wine with my dinner, then another while lounging and catching up on TV shows.
I’m linking up with Jenn today to share my WIAW eats!
