Hey there! I’m back after a much-needed, rejuvenating and restful weekend. Hope you all had great weekends as well!
Saturday morning was spent sitting out on the back deck with coffee, a magazine, the pets, and a breakfast sandwich made and delivered by Riley. It was perfection. There was a perfect breeze, sunshine, and I spent hours out there soaking it all in.
Around lunch time, I saw that my cousin Mallory was at the outlets across the street from me, so I texted to meet up with her for some shopping. I snagged a couple great deals ($12 LBD at Banana Republic!) and walked around with her for a few hours.
The rest of Saturday involved errands, a nap, and some wine in my PJs with Riley. I love having weekends with no set agenda!
Sunday we headed out to spend Easter with Riley’s family. Riley’s dad lives on a gorgeous reservoir and the weather was just as perfect as Saturday.
The grown-ups hid over 150 eggs for all the kids, then we watched them all run around to collect them. Made me miss the days of Easter baskets and getting excited over finding 4 quarters inside a plastic egg.
After the egg hunt, we all dug into the feast. I got some grilled chicken, pork, pasta salad, and potato salad.
I snagged a piece of angel food cake for dessert.
For the afternoon entertainment, we were treated to watching our brother in-law try to drive his truck through a huge mud puddle, get stuck, and have to be pulled out by Riley’s dad. Three times.
I’ve been told I would like mud bogging. Apparently it’s a redneck tradition, watching trucks drive through mud puddles. Although I strongly disagree with those who said I would enjoy it, it was a teeeeensy bit entertaining to watch.
Now it’s back to the real world, and hopefully back to a better workout routine! Last week I relied mainly on walking around campus all day. I probably did rack up a lot of walking, but I’ll feel better with some more structured workouts.
Here’s what I’m aiming for this week:
- Monday: 3 mile run
- Tuesday: 60 minute hot yoga
- Wednesday: Interval treadmill run and kettlebell workout
- Thursday: Off
- Friday: 30 minutes easy cardio, abs workout
- Saturday: 75 minute hot yoga
- Sunday: Off
Have a great Monday!
Have you ever heard of mud bogging?
What was the highlight of your weekend?
What’s one workout you’re looking forward to this week? Mine is definitely the hot yoga! I haven’t been in a couple weeks and I’m ready to get back to it.
