First of all, Happy St. Patrick’s Day! I’m wearing green and telling everyone that I’m Irish, but otherwise I won’t be celebrating much. I’m writing this from my hotel in Chantilly, VA, and this week is already off to a busy start! Yesterday I wrapped up in the office around lunch time and drove up to Northern VA with a couple colleagues for our annual Admitted Student Dessert Receptions. It’s where we parade academic and admission people in front of the admitted students and convince them to come to our school. It’s usually a lot of fun!
We checked into our hotel and had some down time. I took a mini cat nap after the 3 hour drive and did some work in my hotel room.
After answering emails, I got ready for the evening’s event before heading down to grab a quick dinner at the hotel restaurant.
For a few hours, we smiled, answered questions, and tried desperately to avoid eating all the sweets. I broke down and enjoyed a mini pie tart thingy and a chocolate-covered strawberry.
It went really well and afterwards we all gathered to have a drink before heading up to bed.
Today is a repeat of yesterday, except I’m squeezing in a visit to one of my high schools later this morning, then we’re heading to another hotel about 30 minutes north. It’s nice to get out of the office for a couple days after being cooped up all winter!
Weekly Workout Plan
I forgot to share this last week, so here’s what I’m planning on for the days ahead:
- Monday- rest
- Tuesday- 30 minute run and upper body workout in the hotel gym
- Wednesday- HIIT running intervals + Speedy Legs and Butt Workout in hotel gym
- Thursday- Adaptive motion trainer + Ten Minute Abs
- Friday- Treadmill run + kettlebell work
- Saturday – rest
- Sunday- Hot Yoga
Whenever I’m traveling for work I have a harder time sticking to a workout plan, so hopefully by posting it here I’ll be more accountable.
Have a good one!
