Hey everyone! I just came off an amazing weekend. Maybe it’s because it was Valentine’s Day weekend, or maybe it was the this was the first actual weekend I’ve had all month, but it was all-around a perfect couple days.
I started the weekend early on Friday by going to happy hour with some of my co-workers, then came home to this gorgeous display waiting for me.
Lillies are my favorite flowers and Riley’s selection did not disappoint. He also surprised me with an early birthday present. We don’t normally do presents, but he said since it’s my 30th he had to get me something. He got me a juicer!
You can definitely tell I’m turning 30 tomorrow because ten years ago I would not have been excited about a juicer. I’ve been wanting one for a while now, so I’m pretty pumped to start making my own juices.
Saturday morning started with breakfast and coffee. Riley made scrambled eggs, turkey bacon, and homemade home fries.
I spent half the day vegging out, watching TV with Riley, and snuggling with this little lady.
She’s such a sweetheart. She crawled up on my chair and onto my blanket and we enjoyed being bums together.
Saturday afternoon I started to get antsy, so I headed out for what I like to call “free” shopping. I’d accumulated some coupons for free birthday stuff and also had a gift card to Sephora, so I headed out to see how much stuff I could get for free. My haul was pretty impressive! I only spent about $20 over my coupons and gift card.
I got a Benefit makeup kit from Sephora (and finagled some free samples while I was there), then got some free body wash from Bath and Body Works. The biggest score was at Loft, though. I had a $15 birthday coupon to use there and they had some awesome sales. I headed for the “final sale” rack and got a red dress ($14.88), some dress pants ($4.88!!), and some earrings for $10. Not too shabby if I do say so myself! I’m a bargain hunting queen.
After shopping I hit up the gym for an hour of cardio, then to the grocery store to stock up on fruits/veggies for my new juicer. I made my first green juice and it was awesome!
I’ll share more later on my newbie juicing experience, but so far I’m loving it. Saturday night, Riley made us homemade pizza. He’d seen my post on Friday where I shared my favorite combo- spinach, ricotta, and prosciutto- so he decided we should have it again for Valentine’s dinner.
So. so. so. good. He had me document his process and gave me the scoop on the steps to a perfect homemade pizza, so expect a recipe soon!
Sunday was spent going to hot yoga, napping, reading, and relaxing at home. It felt great to have two whole days off, and I needed the rest, so I didn’t beat myself up trying to be super productive.
Before I go, here’s my workout agenda for the week:
- Monday- rest day
- Tuesday- We’re supposed to get enough snow that work will probably close, which is PERFECT since it’s my birthday, so I’ll probably do an at-home workout.
- Wednesday- 30 minute run and yoga-inspired abs workout
- Thursday- 30-40 minutes elliptical and upper body work (shoulders, biceps, triceps, chest)
- Friday- 20 minute interval run and kettlebell leg work (swings, squats, figure 8s, etc.)
- Saturday- rest day/walking.
- Sunday – 90 minute hot flow class
Have a great Monday and I’ll see you all tomorrow!
