So yesterday was a bust, but in a good way for me! We were supposed to get a teensy bit of the snow that hit the Northeast and all kinds of places were closed or delayed. I was feeling optimistic, though, so I told Riley I was POSITIVE we wouldn’t get any kind of real impact. Just shows the power of positive thinking, because this was all we got:
It was my perfect version of a snowy day- looks pretty on the grass and trees, but the roads were totally fine. Since everything worked out perfectly, I was able to make it to my 6 AM hot yoga class. When I pulled up to the studio, however, it appeared everyone else had decided to hibernate. Only two of us showed up for class!
Rather than being awkward, it turned out to be really fun. Our teacher laid out a mat and did some of the practice with us and we took some breaks to try out some moves that we don’t normally do in class. I learned how to do crow pose and I held it for like 5 whole seconds.
We also worked on bird of paradise, which I still have some work to do on.
Finally we learned how to do a toe stand, which was definitely challenging, but fun!
I ended up loving the class. It was nice to get some personalized pointers and work on some new-to-me moves!
After yoga I raced home to get ready for work, then started my breakfast at my desk. I’m loving the Chobani oats yogurt. It’s a little bit more filling than a typical container of Greek yogurt, so it got me through the first wave of phone calls and emails.
Mid-morning, once I was settled I broke out a hummus and pita chip snack pack from Trader Joe’s.
Then later, for lunch, I enjoyed some leftovers from Monday night’s dinner. In my tupperware were three hand-breaded and baked chicken strips, some veggies, and an Israeli couscous medly.
It hit the spot and got me through the rest of my afternoon at work. About mid-afternoon, we had a staff meeting and someone brought cookies and apple slices. I behaved myself and stuck to some apple slices and dip.
For dinner I had some brown rice, spinach, and coconut curried chicken medallions from Trader Joe’s. They were sampling it the other day and I had to get it. It was sweet, creamy, and absolutely delicious!
Riley didn’t care for the sweetness, so I get all the leftovers to myself. Not pictured from my day were 2 glasses of white wine.
Linking up with Jenn for WIAW today. Hope you guys have a good one!
